SCP-6596, also sometimes known as the Mari Lwyd, or the Beast of Lust and Hatred Born is a Keter-class entity and minor antagonist of the SCP Foundation mythos, it is an entity that resembles a bipedal skeletal horse covered in a cloak and ribbon that invades a specific Foundation site in an attempt to ransack the facility's cafeteria and steal various resources from said site while forcing the site's staff to engage themselves with it in a rhyming contest.

Appearance[]

SCP-6596 is a bipedal upright creature with forelimbs resembling the arms of a human skeleton and has hoofed legs. Its head resembles the skull of an adult horse with glass orbs resembling eyes placed in both of its eye sockets. SCP-6596 wears a white cloth that covers most of its body and various decorations such as strings, ornaments, and bows on its head. Despite the fact that its body is entirely skeletal SCP-6596 functions as if these issues in its anatomy weren't at all present and it is still sentient and sapient.

Origins[]

The origins of SCP-6596 are unknown, however it's possible that the entity originated from SCP-4000 as it is referenced in numerous texts and writings found in SCP-4000 where it is described as a trickster and a being representative of gluttony and greed. The Foundation first became aware of SCP-6596 in 2005 in which during the first incident involving SCP-6596 it stole around 12 kilograms of frozen chicken, four boxes of MREs and two vending machines. Since then the SCP Foundation has become aware of it's behavior.

Following the success of the cross-testing of anomalies at Site-100, SCP-6596 was put against SCP-1471-A, which resulted in the two forming a relationship evident with a "selfie" of SCP-1471-A and SCP-6596 embracing, and a text reading "I've found someone new / she's nicer than you / goodbye, my good friends / our battle now ends." SCP-6596 gave back Site-120 and Dir. Asheworth their names soon thereafter.

Behavior and Procedure[]

SCP-6596 specifically pesters and terrorizes Foundation Site-120 for seemingly unknown reasons this takes place usually between 08:00 and 20:00 in which the facility's security systems will be alerted to the entity's presence at the site and specialized staff will show up to SCP-6596 and begin to engage with personnel in which it'll challenge them in a contest of rhyming statements. If the Foundation staff fail to make a coherent rhyming pattern or are too late in their execution or stutter, or their rhyme isn't seen as "jolly enough" by SCP-6596 it'll manifest inside Site-120 and begin to ransack through the buildings cafeteria stealing and eating all of its food alongside stealing other materials from the facility. Notable items that SCP-6596 has stolen or continues to steal include silverware, writing utensils, paper, desk, tables, doors, windows, fire extinguishers, water fountains, CPUs, vending machines, three of the facility's re-containment vans, and even SCP-048 which is currently the only SCP object taken by SCP-6596.

Notable Incidents[]

One of the first major SCP-6596 related incidents was when in 2013 in which Foundation doctor Edison Walstroft was kidnapped by the entity after he had attempted to use an experimental containment chamber located in a pocket dimension that was anchored under another the Site-19 facility. The second most notable incident was Incident 6596.2020 where SCP-6596 via unknown means removed Site-120 entirely from existences alongside the then current site director Daniel Asheworth's name. After this SCP-6596 gracefully clapped its jaws in laughter and de-mannifested from the Site.
