The Orin Temple Bullies are minor antagonists in the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai Saga of the anime-manga series Dragon Ball and Krillin's first arch rivals. They are minor antagonists in Episode 18 ''The Turtle Hermit Way'', supporting antagonists in Episode 20 ''Elimination Round'', and minor antagonists in Episode 23 ''Monter Beast Giran''.
Biography[]
Orin Temple Bullies, also referred to as seniors by Kuririn, are a group of arrogant and sadistic martial artist/monks who train in Orin Temple located in East City. The used to be Kuririn's senior colleagues. Their leader and star pupil of the school is unnamed, but he fights in the preliminaries of the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai under the alias Fighter 94.
Fighter 94, along with his friends used to bully and beat Kuririn, who was weaker and younger than them, very often. That forced Kuririn to leave the temple and train on his own which eventually led him to train under the great Muten Roshi. During his training alongside Son Goku, he often remembered the days at Orin Temple when he was beaten and bullied, which gave him great motivation in order to improve for the upcoming tournament.
Eight months later, Kuririn entered the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai with his friend Goku. While waiting for the preliminaries to start, Kuririn was confronted by his former seniors, Fighter 94 and another fighter from the temple. They both started to mock Kuririn and tell him that he should not have come as their master told him once that he had no promise. Fighter 94 then told Kuririn that he was his first opponent which shocked Kuririn who after hearing this was ready to withdraw from the tournament. However, Goku convinced him to stay and advised him to go all out. The fight started and Fighter 94 continued to mock at Kuririn and attacked him first, however, Kuririn was able to easily dodge the attack by jumping and then kicked him in the gut, sending him out of the room, avenging his previous humiliations. Later, the other Orin Temple senior was beaten by Yamcha. Not one of the remaining Orin Temple seniors was able to advance to the finals of the tournament. Later, another group of them entered a local bar and started a fight with Giran after making fun of him for drinking milk. Giran brutally beat them all easily.
Three years later, in the next tournament, another Orin Temple student entered, but was easily bested by Goku in the preliminaries. It is unknown what happened to them afterwards but it is possible that they were killed when Nappa destroyed East City and thus were never revived by the Dragon Balls.
Powers and Abilities[]
The Orin Temple seniors were strong for regular humans as Kuririn (who had also great power and speed at the time) was beaten multiple times by then and even after training with Goku he considered stepping down when he was about to face their leader, meaning that these guys could be a challenge for even Goku before his training with Muten Roshi. However, they were all easily beaten by Kuririn, Yamcha and Giran.
