~ Janga.

Janga, also known as Poison Claws Janga, is one of the main antagonist of the 2002 action role-playing game, Klonoa Heroes. He appears to be the arch-nemesis of Guntz for killing his father, Butz. And the right-hand man of Garlen.

He was voiced by Nobuyuki Hiyama (who also voiced Demitri Maximoff in the Darkstalkers series, and Galdino in One PIece) in Namco x Capcom.

Appearance[]

Janga is a feline-like purple creature with different colored eyes, blue on his right eye, and yellow on his left eye. He has both red sharp claws in his hands where he uses them as a weapon. He wears a purple coat, long red and violet scarf, and a purple fedora with an x mark. And wears a purple pants and purple boots.

Personality[]

Janga is a cruel and vile person who's also happens to be a coward, using Klonoa as a shield to get Guntz lower his weapons and he always picking a fight with people who he sees weaker, defenseless, and less fighting experience than him, if he met someone who's around his level, he flees. And lastly, he begs for his life once he realize his fate is at hand. Janga is also quite traitorous and have no remorse for his actions, as he killed Butz without a second thought when he refuses to revive Nahatomb, and take his hunting rifle as a souvenir, Janga cares for no one but himself. Janga is seem to be foul-mouthed due to him swearing much often everytime he starts talking and is an aggressive alcoholic.

Biography[]

Past[]

In his past times, Janga was orginally a treasure hunter who worked with Butz, who appears to be Guntz's father. As they search for the Darkness of Nahatomb, Butz didn't agree with the idea of reviving Nahatomb, Garlen then ordered Janga to kill him, and succeed. Janga takes Butz's weapons with him as a trophy afterwards. Now that he have Garlen and Joka as his new partners, he wanted to harvest nightmares and use them for his own sinister purpose and desire.

Klonoa Heroes[]

Confrontation with Guntz[]

Janga was first shown in the Ruins of the Moon, where he's sending out nightmares from the captive people inside the ruins to the Lunar base. As Janga watching Guntz and commented that Diglo is useless for letting the intruder in, Guntz notice Janga's presence at the dark and recognized the mark on his hat and find out that it was indeed Janga, his father's killer that he vowed to take revenge by killing him. Janga didn't want to waste any moment with him and says that he have other things to do, he flees and tell Guntz that he'll deal with him later. Guntz found Janga again and saying that he will avenge his father, Janga is starting to realize that he was Butz's son and unsurprisingly he doesn't care about his vengeance against him, he continues to start taunting Guntz and use Klonoa as a shield to escape him, leaving Guntz frustrated.

The Chase[]

Guntz chases Janga all the way to Ruins of the Moon to get revenge against him for killing his father, but Janga is too quick and agile for Guntz to catch him, Janga still taunting him about his petty revenge. He started laughing when he notice that Guntz only has a Bronze Hero Medal on him, calling him a third-rate greenhorn. He then goes on to say that Butz's Hero Medal was gold, as Guntz is realizing that his father's Hero Medal could be useful like he have, Janga takes a cheap shot at him and letting him go, saying Guntz not to appear front of him a second time before leaving. Guntz is still trying to follow him until he cornered him in the Underground Factory. Janga had enough of his persistence, he throw his weapon at Guntz to knock out as a distraction. Janga wouldn't be using his poison claws to execute him. but instead using the weapon that belong to his own father. He shot him point blank and give him back his father's weapon, leaving him to root and laughing at him as he leaves. Unfortunately for Janga, Guntz survived the shot because the Hero Medal and got his father's hunting rifle, Guntz will never going to forgive Janga for what he have done.

Final Encounter[]

Janga showed himself once again to Guntz, Klonoa, and Pango. Telling them that it is too late to stop the mist and half of the planet already has covered by it. As he was start laughing and thinking that there will be no hope for them, Guntz fires his weapon and missed on purpose, making Janga stop his laughter and shock. Guntz told him that they're fight right here and now. Janga is becoming irritated of him and left. As the heroes make through, they encounter Janga one last time, Guntz ask him before he would beat up, him and Butz were supposedly treasure hunters who were known to be a great duo, and wonder why he betrayed him, Janga tells him that Butz was the best hunter he ever met and by approaching him with the intention of using him from the start. He then revealed him that the one who found the method of the Darkness of Nahatomb, was Butz. Due to Butz being against using it, Janga killed him for it and being too skillful isn't always a good thing. Guntz says that he won't be holding back like before and engages Janga in battle.

Death[]

The heroes have defeated Janga in battle, Janga didn't want to believe that he lose the fight. Guntz tells him that its over for him, Janga then quickly wanted to apologize and begs for forgiveness, he tells them that he was only following Garlen's orders and killing him won't make Butz happy and that he should be forgiven. Guntz wasn't happy and having a difficult time hearing Janga out, as Janga continues to explain that he was going to betray Garlen from the start, Guntz was shameful that he chases after such a damned soul, Janga was lost for words. Guntz shoots Janga's fedora off as a warning and tells him to leave and never show his face to him ever again, and Janga quickly flees. However, the heroes thought he would have already left by now, Janga tries to strike Guntz with his poison claws in a cowardly way, but Klonoa stops him, taking the strike instead and being poisoned. Enraged, Guntz have enough of him and fires a few shots at Janga, injuring him. Janga cackled and told him that no survives his poison, as he was trying to get away from them, Janga slip back falling into a magma crater of the moon, leading to his demise.

  • Before he makes his first official appearance in the Klonoa Heroes as one of the main villains, he was mentioned during Guntz's ending in Klonoa Beach Volleyball spin-off game.
