Miss Grace Springer is a minor character of Dame Agatha Christie's 1959 Hercule Poirot novel, Cat Among the Pigeons, and the novel's first victim.
Whilst her character in the original novel was harmless and generic, her counterpart in the 2008 adpatation of Agatha Christie's Poirot was an unsympathetic victim, acting much more sadistic and villainous than her original counterpart.
She was portrayed by Elizabeth Berrington in Agatha Christie's Poirot.

In the Novel[]
Ms. Grace Springer was the new games mistress at the Meadowbank School for Girls. She was shot to death by a mysterious individual in the school's sports pavilion.
In Agatha Christie's Poirot[]
In the original novel, Ms. Springer was not villainous. The story's narrative described her as a "woman you could neither love or hate". However, in Agatha Christie's Poirot, this version's Ms. Springer was much more sadistic, cruel and condescending towards the students of Meadowbank.
During Poirot's attempt to seek a suitable successor for the school's headmistress, he discovered that Ms. Springer often bullied students and gave them harsh punishment for pure fun. She also prone to a sadistic fit and often bullied her colleagues. On the night of her murder, Ms. Springer caught the culprit in the gym and mocked them, arrogantly attempting to threaten them, but she was soon murdered by the killer because she underestimated their strength.
Trivia[]
- In Agatha Christie's Poirot, aside from the aformentioned change of Ms. Springer's personality and characterization, the murder weapon that led to her death was also changed, from a revolver to a javelin.
