Duke Alarice, also known as Lord Alarice, is a supporting antagonist in the Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Shadow of Death campaign Rise of the Necromancer. He is a necromancer who attempts to stop Sandro and Finneas Vilmar from taking over Deyja.

History[]

A lord in the court of Deyja, Duke Alarice opposed Sandro and Finneas when the two were working together to increase Vilmar's realm of power and take over the throne of Deyja. He planned to kill Sandro and take the Armor of the Damned and the Cloak of the Undead King for himself. To this end, Alarice warned nearby AvLee lords about Sandro and Finneas' powerful army and offered an alliance to stop them. Although the AvLee lords did not trust him, some of them helped him in hopes that the necromancers would deplete their armies and allow them to defeat both factions.

Sandro and Finneas defeated the forces of Lord Alarice and the AvLee lords. The duke retreated to his castle, but the two necromancers followed him into his territory to kill him. Alarice sent all of his armies against them, but in the end Sandro and Finneas defeated them and killed him.
