The Cotpotros were the waiting staff-themed footsoldiers of the Gorma Tribe and major recurring antagonists in Gosei Sentai Dairanger.
Biography[]
Past[]
When the Gorma Tribe declared war on the other two tribes of the Daos Empire some 8000 years ago, the Cotpotros engaged in the war but he was killed in battle when six members of the Dai Tribe become the Dairangers. As with all Gorma however, they will revive always sometime in the future because the Yo Power they used was the counterpart to the Dai Tribe's Dai Power. As long as the Dai Power exists, so will the Gorma Tribe be resurrected.
Dairanger[]
In 1993, the Cotpotros are revived in modern waiter-like forms and immediately swear allegiance to the Gorma Triumvirate. They are first seen when they are sent with Baron String to kill the to kill Ryo and four others before they can become the Dairangers and kill the Gorma. Although they initially have the upper-hand through surprise, they are all soon killed by the Dairangers when they morph.
There are also red versions of Cotpotros called Imperial Guard Cotpotros who serve as guards to the Gorma Emperor. All of the Cotpotros are killed when Daijinryuu destroys the Gorma Palace. 50 years later, the Cotpotros that helped Tofu Hermit are remembered by Kazu as he watches his grandson fight the New Gorma Monster at the beginning of the next war with the Gorma.
Super Sentai World[]
A year after the defeat of the Gorma, some Cotpotros are among the army of past Sentai footsoldiers summoned by Zaigan to assist in Emperor Daidas' invasion of Earth, alongside some Batzler Soldiers, Grinam Soldiers, Golem Soldiers and Dorodoros. They are all killed by the Kakurangers and four previous Sentai teams.
Timeranger[]
Seven years later, the Timerangers embark on a journey to understand the previous Sentai teams by using the TimeJets to revisit thier battles. They arrive in the time of Dairanger just in time to see the Cotpotros that aided Key Jester being defeated.
Gaoranger vs Super Sentai[]
Miku of the Megarangers recalls Rin defeating Key Jester's Cotpotros to Sae Taiga of the Gaorangers during a speech about the past fights that other Sentai have had after Lost Highness Duke Rakushaasa makes him lose hope.
Gokaiger[]
Several Cotpotros are part of an army of past enemy grunts fought by the Gokaigers in Los Dark's ghost dimension which houses the 1500 spirits of the villains defeated by the Super Sentai. After losing some of their number in an initial skirmish, the remaining members from each grunt group merged to form the Combined Combatant. Though the stronger opponent, the Combined Combatant proves to be unstable due to internal conflicting among the grunts composing him over who got to finish the pirates off. Taking advantage, the Gokaigers use the Battle Fever J Ranger Keys to destroy the Combined Combatant with the Penta Force cannon.
Zenkaiger[]
After breaking his seal and escaping from the Agastia Base, Asmodeus summons the Kamen Rider and Super Sentai books from off the shelves and uses them to call forth an army of villains previously defeated by the Kamen Riders and Super Sentai which include a platoon of Cotpotros. Many are destroyed but most of the Cotpotros survive long enough to see Asmodeus' plans seemingly come to fruition until Touma Kamiyama manages to help Shotaro himself regain his passion for drawing out superheroes which, in turn, revives all of the Kamen Riders and the Super Sentai teams back into existence. Ultimately, the entire army itself is be wiped out by the full and combined might of Kamen Rider Saber as well as his fellow swordsmen and the Zenkaigers along with Zocks Goldtsuiker supported by the Kamen Riders and the previous Red Rangers.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Sight: The Cotpotros could see despite not having eyes.
- Biking: The Cotpotros were often shown to be skilled bicyclists.
Arsenal[]
- Swords: The Cotpotros usually wielded large swords as thier default weapons.
- Machine Guns: The Cotpotros often also wielded Type 93 Heavy Machine Guns in battle. It was with these weapons that they killed Jin Matoba.
- Plates: The initial Cotpotros tried to take out the future Dairangers by throwing serving plates at them but missed.
Trivia[]
- Due to thier comedic nature, they were not adapted into Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and were replaced by a different variation on the Putty Patrol.
