Biography[]
Past[]
Since his true identity was never revealed, Boss Iron Claw's early life is unknown but he was found by Shine at some point before 1978 and helped it to form CRIME with plans to make it the largest criminal organisation in Japan. Iron Claw acted as the leader of CRIME while Shine led it from behind the scenes. Operating out of a remote island in the Pacfic, CRIME quickly became one of the most powerful criminal organizations in the world. Boss Iron Claw was a longtime rival of Big One, the pair having clashed numerous times in the past.
J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai[]
In 1977, after sinking the Earth Defence Force's aircraft carrier Seaload to prevent it discovering the Crime Fortress Island, Iron Claw and CRIME begin their efforts to establish the world's largest crime family in Tokyo. After overseeing the sinking of the Earth Defence's aircraft carrier Sealand, the Tokyo Crime Boss informs Iron Claw but of the set-backs caused by Daisuke Kujirai and the International Science Special Investigation Squad so is ordered to send Devil Killer to deal with the problem and However, they are are opposed by J.A.K.Q.; a team of super cyborgs assembled by ISSIS to thwart CRIME's nefarious plans. After JAKQ's continued victories against CRIME's Crime Monsters and Crime Bosses, Iron Claw dismisses the remaining Bosses but the Crime Monsters continually fail. After the death of Devil Scrap, Shine appears and informs Iron Claw it is time to expand their scope to the entire world; leading to the introduction of the more powerful Invader Robots
Eventually, Iron Claw begins converting the Crime Fortress Island into a set of giant rockets as per order of Shine, though Iron Claw does not know what they are for. He later discovers that Shine has sent the Super Cyborg Great King Icarus to replace him as the leader of CRIME and oversee the construction of the rockets. It turns out that the rockets are for "Operation Stardust", a plan to knock the Earth out of orbit and into the Shine Galaxy where Shine's people can colonize it. After Icarus flees from battle with JAKQ, Iron Claw, growing tired of Icarus' leadership, executes him for his cowardice. Shine then appears and demands an explanation for why Iron Claw killed his Invader Robot to which Iron Claw answers that Icarus had acted cowardly. Shine agrees with Iron Claw's judgement and decides to overlook his killing of Icarus; telling Iron Claw that, if he deals with JAKQ, he will be made Emperor of the Solar System.
Iron Claw then assumes his ultimate fighting form, a full silver-bodied super cyborg called "Warrior Iron Claw", and goes out to go finally defeat them. He takes Joker and his family hostage after they return to Japan in order to prevent Joker from performing surgery on an injured Karen Mizuki. Though Iron Claw believes his victory is assured, ISSIS is able to rescue the hostages by using freezing gas to cryogenically freeze the inside of the truck where Iron Claw and Joker's family are, enabling the hostages to be safely removed and unfrozen while Iron Claw is put inside of a lead casket and taken to be buried. Despite this, Iron Claw unfreezes himself and escapes the casket and goes to go settle his score with Big One. His final battle with Big One is interrupted when the rest of JAKQ arrive to assist Big One.
Facing all five members of JAKQ, Iron Claw declares that he is the Emperor of the Solar System and that he will defeat JAKQ, but Spade Ace reveals that they have already defeated Shine and tosses his true form, a circular alien satellite, down to Iron Claw. Iron Claw picks up the sphere who tells Iron Claw that he is the Emperor of the Solar System and orders him to defeat JAKQ but Big One retorts that Iron Claw is nothing more than Shine's puppet. Iron Claw then tosses Shine to the ground and goes to fight JAKQ anyway. Iron Claw fights well, even defeating Diamond Jack's Spinning Slice as well as the the JakQ Cross and JakQ Speed Attacks, but Bamba knocks him down and they seemingly kill Boss Iron Claw with the Big Bomber attack; using a giant rat to bite into his throat.
JAKQ vs. Gorenger[]
Later however, Iron Claw returns very much alive with the Crime Big Four; now leading the remnants of Crime and the Black Cross Army. The revived Crime and the Big Four engage over the world in skirmishes against several superheroes; General Sahara by the Gorengers in the Sahara desert, Hell Boxer by Kikaider in Mongolia, the Iron Mask Battalion by Kamen Rider V3 in Europe and while Kamen Rider Amazon continues his fight in the Amazon Rainforest.
They catch J.A.K.Q. off guard whilst investigating the Big Four's UFO in the Sky Ace. Crime's plan is to use the "Citybuster" hydrogen bombs on the United States, the Soviet Union, the People's Republic of China, France, the United Kingdom, West Germany, and Japan. In doing so, they would wipe out much of humanity while Iron Claw and his forces retreat into space via a UFO before returning to Earth and conquering it. J.A.K.Q. learn of Crime's "Citybuster" project and the location of the syndicate's island base. Managing to infiltrate Crime's base, Spade Ace and Heart Queen learn of Iron Claw's plan so, after saving Momorenger, Ace & Queen escape the base but are surrounded by the Big Four and their armies before Clover King, Dia Jack and the other Gorengers appear and save them. Both teams go on to defeat the Crime and Black Cross armies and the Big Four combine to form the super cyborg Big Four Robo who overwhelms both teams. However, Big One arrives and the two teams combine their attacks to destroy it. Iron Claw then retreats in his UFO and activates the "Citybuster" bombs but Big One switched Iron Claw's hand with a remote controlled one. When Spade Ace activates it, the "Citybuster" bombs detonate on the craft; destroying the saucer and taking Boss Iron Claw with it. With Crime no more, the Sentai celebrate whilst Bamba keeps Iron Claw's titular claw as a souvenir.
Akibaranger[]
When ©Na replaces the Super Sentai Series with her own Super ©Na Series, she takes Iron Claw's place as Crime Empress ©Na in her version of J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai.
Personality[]
Boss Iron Claw is a cold, ruthless and maniacal leader whose only interest is power and furthering the ambitions of himself and Shine. Completely intolerant of failure, Iron Claw killed anyone and anything who failed him if JAKQ did not already do it for him. As the series went on though, Iron Claw became more of a comedically arrogant figure which ultimately lead to his apparent demise.
Upon returning, Iron Claw demonstrated himself to be just as skilled a leader without Shine's ambition as he united CRIME and the Black Cross Army. Despite that, his overconfidence remained which ultimately led to his death.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Strength: Boss Iron Claw had almost inhuman strength; snapping a metal pipe in half relatively easily, taking down each of the JAKQ with his bare hands, and blocking Diamond Jack's Spinning Strike with his bare hands.
