Arts and Crafters is a supporting antagonist in the Baldi's Basics franchise.
He is one of Baldi's students, who will wander around the school trying not to be noticed by the Protagonist, and will feel jealous of him when he collects more notebooks than he does.
Biography[]
Classic[]
Arts and Crafters is a shy and insecure student, and usually keeps to himself. He does not like being looked at and, during most of the game, will just avoid the Protagonist and the other characters as much as possible.
However, if the player collects all seven notebooks, Arts and Crafters will become insanely jealous that the Protagonist has more notebooks than him. If the Protagonist looks at him while he's trying to escape, he will go mad and angrily chase him down. If caught, Arts and Crafters will teleport the Protagonist and Baldi to the starting point of the game in very close proximity to one another, all but guaranteeing that Baldi will catch the Protagonist and end the game.
Birthday Bash[]
In Baldi's Basics Birthday Bash, Arts and Crafters has the same appearance in the original game, but he is one of the few characters to not wear any birthday accessories. When the Protagonist is surprised by the others with the birthday cake, he is the only character to not shout surprise, only opening his mouth.

Classic Remastered[]
In Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered, Arts and Crafters will teleport the Protagonist and Baldi to a random exit that has not been reached. While the teleporting mechanism is similar to Baldi's Basics Plus, other mechanisms are same as in the previous games.

Arts and Crafters will instead become a barrier to the player as he will come out and start attacking the player if they reach into the NO ENTERING zone, He will endlessly attempt to attack the Protagonist until he gets him, which will put the Protagonist back into the fireplace which might put him in danger if Baldi is active. He will also take away sticks from the Protagonist when he catches him.

Arts and Crafters stands stationary, sitting next to the conveyor belt. Much like before, he will attack once the Protagonist collected all eight notebooks. Once he reaches the Protagonist, he runs rapid loops around him before warping the Protagonist to another part of the level.
Appearance[]
Arts and Crafters is a white and gray long-sleeved sock puppet sporting googly eyes (the right eye being bigger than the left as well as reflecting the room if looking closely), a black mouth, and a red tongue made out of cardboard. The black mouth is only slightly visible when his mouth is closed, and his tongue can only be seen when he opens his mouth. If observed closely, there is a slightly off-color part on the top of his head, possibly covering a brand name. Arts and Crafters is being worn by a right hand.
Personality[]
Arts and Crafters is described as shy and insecure, even to the point of not liking to be looked at. He avoids contact with anyone, and usually just scurries along trying to be avoided and ignored. If he does encounter the Protagonist or another character, he will simply run past them in a silent manner. However, after collecting more notebooks than him, his personality changes drastically, becoming violent, dangerous, determined and hostile. He becomes one of the most difficult enemies to avoid, and will help Baldi catch the Protagonist if he catches up.

- Arts and Crafters was originally intended to speak actual words instead of just screeching, as Mystman12 has confirmed that the "Let's play!" line was originally for him before he realized that it would fit Playtime more and that's how her voice "came to be".
- Arts and Crafters' loud corrupted audio originates from a ROM corruption of the Super Nintendo game Donkey Kong Country 2.
- In the Kickstarter video, Mystman12 can be seen hitting Arts and Crafters with his ruler.
- Arts and Crafters' design was inspired by Sussie from The Amazing World of Gumball when Mystman12 tried to edit a picture of Sussie in the dark from far away.
- Arts and Crafters is the second fastest character when he moves at maximum speed, with The Test being the fastest after the player looks away from him 9 times. Arts and Crafters is so fast that he often misses the entrance to a hallway, as well as being faster than 1st Prize and Gotta Sweep.
- Despite Arts and Crafters' speed, it is easy to lose him.
- In the original game, Arts and Crafters' attacking sprite is referred to as Crafters_Ohno.png in the texture files.
- The "Ohno" word is also shared for the sound file when the 99 game over jump-scare occurs, 1st Prize's "OH - no" quote, Beans' "Oh no!" quote, and The Test's body model. Whether these have a deeper lore connection similar to the number 99 is unknown.
- Arts and Crafters can be controlled by eight triggers, but these triggers can only be seen in the 3D model map. However, the map does not show the other two triggers.
- If the player enters one of the triggers, Arts and Crafters will go to a "goTarget", as internally called in the triggers' script, if he is not angry. If the player exits this trigger, he will go to a "fleeTarget" and have his sprite be forced visible by the game for 3 seconds, if he is not angry.
- In the true sense of the old poster is a reaction that is usually issued by artists. When seeing a work that we as laymen consider strange, these artists consider it a masterpiece.
- Since the model of Arts and Crafters is quite strange, that's why it is given such a description. This has also been shown in one episode of Spongebob Squarepants: The Googly Artiste.
- Arts and Crafters seems to be the inspiration for the new school character, Lana, in Fundamental Paper Education.
