Ace is a teenage boy with an average and slim build; he has fair skin complexion, has wavy blonde hair in a pixie cut, blue eyes. Ace wears a red suit with belts strapped around it with spherical armours and with two red cuffs on his feet and shoes, gloves coloured in blue.
Personality[]
Ace is a young No. 1 pilot who respects humanity, yet he tends to be envious. Besides his envy, he is also a boy whose covertly attracted to a girl named Queen Melody and likes to help out with her.
At the end of TwinBee Yahho!, Ace shows remorse for what he'd done and later become an ally.
History[]
TwinBee Yahho! (1995)[]
Ace was raised as the foster son of the Wonder Shogun, and is even a member of the Nonsense Facility Army as a Defense Captain.
During the events of the game, Ace helps the Archduke Nonsense imprison the Queen Melody (an idea Dr. Warumon gave the latter about dethroning her prior to sending Melody being locked up), and the Archduke's minions (including Ace) were sent to hunt down TwinBee and WinBee, who were both especially heading to Wonderland.
In "Sisilia Isle", his vehicle (known as the Shooting Star, which has multi-directional firing abilities) comes in to fight them. However, he soon says that his ship is overheating, so Ace escapes by speeding up and heads back to the castle, only for the two to chase after him.
Meanwhile in "Aerial Corridor" as the heroes move aside and approach the castle's main entrance, an angered Ace prevents them from getting in so he battles them; this time, the Shooting Star at the start of the fight has eight Lucianos behind his vehicle; additionally, the 2nd phase of the Mini-boss has four attacks: it charges up either a spark laser or wide blast (consisting of six large bullets to injure the player), does a special move by spreading Lucianos at the player, or having Lucianos as protection which orbit around it and fire green bullets. After defeating him, his vehicle is severely damaged, so TwinBee (or WinBee) will also have to defeat the Balloon Brothers.
As the heroes of the story had defeated the Archduke Nonsense in his Electric Doll Emily, it has been revealed that Dr. Warumon was the person who'd been behind this by manipulating him, Ace and Wonder Shogun into imprison Melody, and was also the evil scientist who had stolen the Harp of Happiness the entire time, so Ace decides to redeem humself, and eventually ends the Archduke and the mad doctor's wicked plans by refraining the latter to get away. Much to Warumon's misfortune, the Shooting Star perfectly spreads its Lucianos into his airship making it land into the ocean.
As Ace rushed to the Queen's chambers and sets her free, Ace holds an apology to her showing that he was lying and shouldn't have had any bad purposes. Melody finally forgave him for what he did; it's also worth noticing that his foster father and the Archduke Nonsense were now in the chambers while Light and Pastel explain about it more often, just before the closing credits of the game start to roll.
TwinBee PARADISE in Donburi Shima (1998)[]
He makes a cameo in the game as an Icon and also appears in one of the wallpapers where he, the Archduke Nonsense, Wonder Shogun, Major Mossgreen and the Colonel Khaki are in.
Other Appearances[]
Outside of the TwinBee series, Ace has made appearances in other Konami games:
Snatcher (1996; PS/Saturn versions only)[]
In the PlayStation/Sega Saturn Ports of the game, he makes a cameo as a background character.
Sexy Parodius (1996/1997)[]
Although TwinBee and WinBee don't make any appearance in Sexy Parodius, they were replaced by Ace and an unknown girl with red hair (whose the pilot of the Black Viper) and is one of the newcomers in the Parodius, the others being Ivan, Toby, Option, and Multiple. Despite this, it is the only game where Ace has a major role in.
Abilities:[]
In the game, the Shooting Star's attacks appear to be changed:
- Auto Option: Two formation options will appear where they fire from the top and bottom. On maximum black power, the options now become cannons and can now shoot from the rear.
- Wide Blast: As seen in TwinBee Yahho!, This weapon can only be used on Semi-Auto or Manual mode; to fire a spherical blast, charge it up, and release it. When the Black Power increases, more blasts would be fired in a spreadable pattern.
- Spark Laser: As seen in TwinBee Yahho!, This weapon is like the E-Laser from Gradius III; charge up and let out a large beam. Also, when powering up, the laser will last longer.
- Black Power: Grade Up.
- Psycho Field: When activated, it creates a green electrical shield for protection in a slight horizontally oval shape.
Otomedius Excellent (2011)[]
While Ace himself was absent in Otomedius Excellent, his Shooting Star is now yellow instead of red, which could be summoned by Madoka's Platonic Break. Furthermore, it's also truly unknown what happened to him after his last appearance in 1998.
Trivia[]
- In the Special Mode of TwinBee Yahho!, Ace has a different set of attacks in the fourth stage, and these include;
- His Wide Blast move is different as the blasts are released from the Lucianos.
- He performs a Wide Blast attack and lets out the Spark Laser after it.
- His Lucianos orbit around him quite quickly but later spread out into a larger circle.
- Seldomly, Ace can also use Lucianos to let out Spark Lasers.
- According to the Strategy Book of Detana! TwinBee Yahho! Deluxe Pack, It is said that Major Mossgreen is good friends with him, even though they had never interacted.
- Ace is the only person in Wonderland to not have any pointy ears unlike the others.
- His theme in Sexy Parodius is a remix of the first stage, known as "Sisilia Isle" in TwinBee Yahho!, and as a result, it reappears in the 2010 Pachislot game Gokuraku Parodius!.
- Out of all the antagonists in TwinBee Yahho!, Ace is strangely enough, not as bad as them, and appears to be redeemable and somehow kinder than them; For one, Despite him helping the Archduke Nonsense imprison Queen Melody, he says he wants her to forgive him. And it is said that he especially proves that Nonsense's methods are wrong, and one of the most heroic/anti-villainous acts Ace did was when he spreads his Lucianos into Warumon's ship, causing it to crash land, thus making him the first character in the series to become good.
- The Black Viper is the possible female version of Shooting Star and it has the same attacks as it, except the distaff version of it was modeled on spacecraft and didn't make it's debut until 1996.
