Stitching

The ladies at afternoon stitching have made some gorgeous things. It is always such fun when we get together and chat, eat and stitch. Roni has made these delightful decorations.

Beth wowed us with this very special bag!

On Wednesday evening it was lovely to see this gorgeous bag that Margaret has made for her daughter. So so cute.

Judy has made these cute easter baskets and has made felt bunnies to go in them.
Anita and Deanna went on retreat and made so many quilt tops! I didn't get any pictures except this one of this great zippered pouch that Anita was given.
Barbara is making these delightful easter hangings.
I have finally made my way back to the sewing room and made up this little purse. Lovely pattern from Anni Downs' new book.
I have also braved making the big borders on my Vermont Summer Medallion quilt. I was a little hesitant cutting the large pieces and adding the triangles but getting there now.
I also received last year's blog book. It is pretty skinny as not that much happened last year but nice to have it in print form.

Lovely projects

It is ways so inspiring to see what the Wednesday ladies are stitching. Jayne has finished her amazing needlecase using the delightful stitcheries she has been working on. It is such a useful needlecase.

Rini has bound her gorgeous hand pieced quilt. It looks so beautiful. We lovely the colours used.
Roni has also been making these great easter eggs using a pattern by Anni Downs. The cake behind was made by Paddy and was delicious. We had an early celebration for Beth's special birthday.

We gave Beth her gift. We gave her a gift voucher for her favourite shop, Makerie, and some beautiful candles. I made this purse for Beth to keep her gift voucher or treasures in.

Life goes on quietly

We are certainly living in strange times. Hope you are all well and safe. I seem to have so much spare time and should be tidying or cleaning cupboards but seem to be able to waft away the day! I am missing the kids though we do see them occasionally with a distance between us but it does seem very odd! We delivered Easter goodies and visited for just a moment at each house. Only managed to get pictures of the boys.

I have been enjoying stitching the Love and Hugs free stitcheries. This is Gail Pan's design and the one below is Anni Downs'.

The other job I had on my list was blocking these scarves. The first one is the Tendril shawl by Annie Design Crochet. It was a lovely project and the blocking worked so well.
This is another one of her designs and I crocheted it in 2ply wool.
This one is an old one but blocking it made it so much flatter and larger too.
My biggest achievement was finally sewing together this Stitching Circle basket by Lynette Anderson. I started this last September at the Stitch the Day away in Queensland. It was a big effort but I did do it slowly and paced myself. I am happy with the result.
I have managed to waste another morning really doing nothing much! Best go and sew a few houses!

Easter

We have had a lovely Easter weekend here. I hope you have had a happy weekend too. We went to church and enjoyed 2 special services on Good Friday and Easter Sunday remembering what Easter is all about.
We definitely enjoyed some chocolate too! These were for the whole family....not just us!
On Saturday I had a wonderful day at the Folk festival as usual. I just loved this concert with Fred Smith and the Spooky Men but here were lots of other really good performances as well. There was also lots of delicious food and I enjoyed my German kransky, Gozleme and some Profetjees (dutch pancakes) very much.

On Sunday we (note it says we) went for a ride with friends. I am trying (stop laughing) to get used to riding as we are going on a Bike and Barge holiday in France in June. I rode 18 kilometres!!!! I am very achy and glad I made it. Thank heavens for the flat and downhill sections.
We stopped along the way for coffee and these little fellows just needed an icecream! The rode in the box on the back of Lyle's bike!
We also saw a bit of these gorgeous little fellows to celebrate Easter and for an early birthday celebration for me on Monday. They are growing up so much. Benny is now sitting really well.

Sammy isn't sitting but is commando crawling everywhere. He now scoots over for you to pick him up. He is so busy and active it is hard to hold onto him!

Happy Easter

I do hope you have all had a happy Easter break and have enjoyed plenty of chocolate eggs and remembered the true meaning of Easter as well. We have a few naughty eggs to share here too. Can't have Easter without chocolate!
We headed off to church and there was a lovely symbol of the Easter story using this cross. On Friday it was just a bare wooden cross and today the congregation decorated with flowers to represent new life and the resurrection. It looked beautiful.
I must admit that I love to head to the Folk Festival each Easter here in Canberra. It is always great to hear all the wonderful musicians and to enjoy the stalls and especially the delicious foods. I made sure I had my German sausage and some Turkish Gozleme as well. I only went for one day so made the most of it and stayed till quite late.
 Saturday's weather was perfect!
It is hard to take pictures inside but we enjoyed some Spanish music with dancing too.
One of our favourite bands was Dry Bones from Canada. They were terrific musicians and very funny too.
