Last week

There was some wonderful Show and tell last Wednesday at social stitching and at my classes. Janet has completed another beautiful blanket. What a lucky baby this will be!
This tree was so beautiful with Turkey stitch (I think) leaves.
There were two more elephants as well.
Penny had her quilted Gardener's Journal to show us. She now has to fit it into her luggage to take home next week. We will miss you when you go, Penny. It has been beautifully quilted by Robyn of Plain and Fancy.
Sue had completed her own version of the little Anni Downs' basket. I love the use of grub stitch around the outer border. Just looks like a special braid.
In the evening, Audrey showed us the lovely quilt she has made for her little fellow's birthday. It turned out so well and I am sure Nate loves it.

A beautiful blanket and lovely stitching

Dona brought in her wonderful blanket/hanging on Wednesday. I shared her delightful sheep earlier on and now the blanket is finished. It is so special. She has even bought a little sheep to match!

Donna has stitched a little hanging to go with it which has the words of a children's book that her girls loved when they were small.
We all loved seeing this very special little birthday basket. Najelle has stitched it beautifully and it is from Anni Downs Celebrations pattern.
She has stitched a few others ready to make as well. This is the purple one. I gather making up the basket is quite time consuming but the result is fantastic.

Very special sheep and some hardanger

I have had some very lovely but busy days recently so have run out of time to blog! So a quick post to show you Donna's wonderful sheep. They are grazing on a navy blue blanket and are so beautiful and soft with all their grub stitch wool. Donna hasn't finished yet and is adding the more grass for the sheep to eat.
This is the lush grass she is stitching. Lucky sheep!

On Wednesday evening, Sue brought some "hard"anger that she has completed. She assures me it isn't hard but very time consuming and you have to be able to count! I find it hard to be completely accurate and you have to be to be so accurate to do this lovely work. Fantastic job, Sue.

Another stitching Wednesday

Wednesday was full of stitching and chatting as usual. It was good to see the ladies at social stitching at the shop and at the classes. Jan has a lovely new grandson and has made him a beautiful blanket.

In the afternoon class, Jill had this very handy bag with her. It had been made by her sister and has so many great pockets. We all loved the plaited handles.
Jill finished her pin cushion and it looks so good. It is a lovely big one and so very useful.

In the evening, Danielle brought along 2 great bags she has made for gifts. They are such a good size and are reversible too. I am sure the birthday girls will love them.

Wednesday morning social stitching

It was so nice to catch up with lots of the ladies yesterday at social stitching. It is always a time of chatting and laughter and occasionally stitching. It was good to see what the ladies are working on as well. Paddy has been busy with her beautiful "Leanne's House" quilt by Leanne Beasley. Her fabrics look great.

Jan has been very busy embroidering this lovely woollen blanket. There are so many flowers here as the heart is quite large. Well done, Jan.

Here is a closeup.

Great to have Sue back as school is on holidays. Sue is knitting this wonderful blanket for one of her special grandchildren. The yarn is cotton and is so soft.
