Just made it for the May deadline for these blocks! Here are my May blocks. I have had the stitching done for a while but just had to add the borders.

Stitching Progress
After two busy weekends with the stitching days, it was lovely to do a bit of catching up this weekend. Month 4 of In my Garden came a few weeks ago so I organised the fabrics last week and began the applique.
Here is the large pot plant.
Here are the smaller pot plants. These were fiddly but I do love the way they have turned out.
and here are blocks 2 and 3 together. Oh dear! The next magazine is coming next week and I gather there are 3 blocks to finish in that issue!

Now to a real "Ta Dah" moment. Here are blocks 2 and 3 of the Vignette BOM. The stitching has been done for a while and I needed to finish the stitching on the patchwork and then make the shoo-fly blocks. So here it is! This is the left side.

Tuesday stitching
It was so exciting to see the lovely stitching on Tuesday morning. The ladies have been very busy working on and finishing some of the Stitching day projects. Helen had finished her canvas work.
Lynne had finished hers as well!
Barbara was nearly finished hers. Don't they look wonderful?
I think this little felt scissor keeper is Lynne's too.
Shirley had finished her lovely felt needlecase as well.
Maureen has been working on a care quilt using lots of 2 1/2" strips. What a bright, cheerful quilt.

Gorgeous Buttons and a little progress
Hobbysew stock lots of these gorgeous buttons by Laraine from Up in Annies Room. Laraine cut the lovely house button that we painted at the stitching days. They had some of the buttons on display on the stall.
I have been trying to keep up with my BOMs. I did enjoy stitching this second block of Christmas Fun. My little pieced blocks are improving a little! I just love the little painted bird button.

Stitching on the Lake - Day 2
Fiona and I enjoyed another lovely day at our second stitching day on Saturday. It was another great day of chatting, eating and even some stitching. Here is the room all ready for the day.
The table was all set for a busy day of painting.
This table was ready for a wonderful morning tea and then lunch, dessert and afternoon tea. The food was so good!
Cathy came with all the Hobbysew goodies this time. The stall looked lovely.
I brought along a couple of my quilts for the shop to hang as they had some copies of Anni's lovely books, The Gardener's Journal and The World as it should be.
These little Japanese dolls have been popular at the shop.
Here are some of the ladies hard at work.
The painting table was very busy and here is one of the painted houses with some added detail.

"My Town" blocks
It was so exciting to see some "My Town" blocks on Wednesday. Karen has started her first block and it looks lovely. I especially like the fabric she has chosen for the grass.
Terri is making this BOM as well and is using some of her own fabrics mixed in with some of the Blackbird Designs fabric "Wild Rose. Her blocks look fantastic. She has chosen her fabrics so well.
Her Post Office is so lovely.
Terri has already started the Corner Shop. I started fusing mine the other day so will share it soon.
Tomorrow is our second stitching day. Can't wait to see everyone.

Busy day at stitching
We had a very special little visitor to stitching on Wednesday. Little Jaydon came to visit for the first time.
Here are the 4 generations!
It must be the time for babies as it was lovely to see this delightful quilt that Angela has made for her new grandchild that is due very soon.
Janet is one of the newer ladies at stitching and she loves to knit and makes gorgeous blankets and garments using vintage patterns. This is a closeup of the blanket she has knitted.
She managed to knit this little cardigan last week!!!
In the afternoon, at class, it was great to see the ladies' stitching. Karen has almost finished her bag pocket which is stitched and decorated using her punch needle.
Lynne started this sewing pocket last week and had it filled with all her stitching goodies ready to use this week.
Pauline had finished the little felt needlecase that she started at the stitching day last Saturday.

Stitching day and 2 packages
Here are a few more photos of the stitching day. Najelle came with some lovely goodies from Hobbysew.
Here is one of the little wooden houses with blue window frames! Looks great and might have to paint one like that myself. It started a trend.
It was so exciting to receive two packages in the post yesterday. My blog book for 2009 has arrived and it is lovely. The pictures are so clear and it is fun to look over the year in this book. I am definitely planning to do one for 2010. It was ordered from Blog2print.
The other special package came from dear Lise in Victoria. She sent me this beautiful cup and saucer and lovely card for my birthday! Thanks so much, Lise.

Stitching on the Lake
We had a wonderful day on Saturday at the first of our Stitching on the Lake days. It was lovely to see so many ladies having a great time stitching, eating and chatting. Fiona and I enjoyed the day very much too. It was great to catch up with the ladies we knew and also meet some new faces. Here we are all ready before the first ladies arrived.
Here are the projects.
Fiona and I helped to serve the punch. One bowl was very popular as it included some champagne and was delicious.
Here are some of the ladies hard at work.
Yummy punch!
We were very spoilt by Maree and Lynne this time and the food was delicious. Check out the afternoon tea!
