Twists/Changes[]

• Sacred Fire Talisman: The winner of the first Reward Challenge earns the Sacred Fire Talisman which holds significant powers:
  • If their tribe loses the Immunity Challenge, the holder can use the Talisman as an Immunity Idol to protect themselves or a tribemate of their choice. The Talisman can only be used once the votes have already been cast.
  • If their tribe wins the Immunity Challenge, the holder visits the losing tribe's camp. At Tribal Council, the holder of the Talisman has the ability to protect a castaway of their choice.
  • At each Reward Challenge, the Talisman comes back into play. If the owner's tribe wins Reward, the owner can keep the Talisman. If they lose, they have to give the Talisman to someone on the rival tribe.
  • At the merge, the holder is immune from the Ambassadors meeting, but can't become an Ambassador. They would also be immune at the first post-merge Tribal Council.
• Tribe Captains: At the marooning, the castaways immediately compete in an individual Reward Challenge where both the first-placing man and the first-placing woman become the captains of the two new tribes. After spending the first night together, the tribes are then selected in a Schoolyard Pick right before the first Immunity Challenge, respecting gender parity.
• Secret Weapons: Like Les Armes Secrètes, strategic weapons have been hidden on both sides with each of them having a different power.
  • Vote Diversion: Allows a castaway to steal another castaway's vote at Tribal Council.
  • Extra Vote: Allows a castaway to vote twice at Tribal Council.
• Hidden Immunity Necklaces: Immunity Necklaces (the equivalent of Hidden Immunity Idols in Koh-Lanta) are hidden at each of the two tribes' camps.
• Sudden Death Challenge: On Day 10, the castaway who comes in last in the Reward Challenge is directly eliminated from the game.
• Replacements After Quits: For the first time since Viêtnam, quitters would be replaced even after the first cycle.
• Impromptu Tribal Council: In Episode 6, Tribal Council is held immediately after the Immunity Challenge at the challenge site. This also occurred immediately after the Reward Challenge at the challenge site in "Episode 13".
• Black Vote: The Black Vote keeps the mechanics introduced in Cambodge. Starting from the first post-merge Tribal Council, the person voted out gives a remaining castaway the power to vote twice at the following Tribal Council.
• Tied Destinies: On Day 30, the eight remaining castaways were divided into four pairs by a rock draw. Until the next Tribal Council, the fate of each castaway is linked to their partner: the challenges are competed as pairs, and the castaway voted out at Tribal Council also causes their partner's elimination.
• Re-entry Duel: After the Tied Destinies twist, the two eliminated castaways competed in a duel to return to the game. The winner would then compete in a second duel against the castaway who was voted out at the following Impromptu Tribal Council. The losers of each duel would be permanently eliminated.
• Final Tribal Council: The standard two-finalist Final Tribal Council returns after the previous season featured a three-finalist finale.

No vote occurred for her removal and Quentin came back into the game to replace her. ^12 Because they arrived in last place in an Immunity challenge, this castaways received one vote against them at the following Tribal Council. ^13 Clémence was Esteban's partner during the Tied Destinies twist, therefore she was also eliminated when Esteban was voted out. ^14 After the Tied Destinies twist, two "Sacred Fire" duels were held, first between the two casualties of the Tied Destinies, and then between the winner of that challenge, and evictee of the following Impromptu Tribal Council. ^15 An Immunity Necklace was played, negating all votes against its user. ^16 At the final four, the remaining castaways competed in an elimination challenge where one castaways would be eliminated from the game. Julie came in last and was eliminated. ^17 Nicolas and Tania did not vote as they could only vote for each other. By virtue of winning the Final Immunity Challenge, only Frédéric voted.
