Description

RisingFangSA

Terry blasting Cammy away using Rising Fang.

Executed by performing two quarter-circle forward motions and pressing punch, Terry concentrates while getting into a stance, using his legs to draw ki from the ground before delivering a powerful Rising Tackle. If the initial attack hits, Terry launches the opponent high into the air with a multi-hitting drill kick. He quickly descends back to the ground and pulls his arm back to gather ki energy into his fist. Terry then performs a second Rising Tackle, using more momentum and the heat from his fist to launch the opponent higher into the air. At the peak of the attack, Terry drives the heated fist into the opponents stomach to hit them with a point blank Power Geyser through their body while they are both are still airborne.

The Critical Art version has Terry launching the opponent higher into the air with the first Rising Tackle. He drops to the ground while pulling a ki-infused fist back, punching the ground upon landing. Terry performs a High Angle Geyser, detonating the ground with ki that causes him to propel towards an airborne opponent. Finally, Terry delivers an airborne Buster Wolf to the opponent, punching their midsection and igniting the fist to create a massive explosion that blasts them into the wall while he rolls backward on landing.

Tactics

RisingFangCA

Terry finishing off Cammy away using Rising Fang.

Rising Fang functions similarly to Shin Shoryuken, being primarily used as an invincible reversal or a combo ender. If it misses its initial hit, it acts as a powered up Rising Tackle, dealing between 2650-3000 damage for the standard version depending on how many hits it lands. While it is easy to add onto the end of Terry's combos for extra damage, it is technically not his strongest Super Art. At maximum combo scaling, Triple Geyser outdamages even Critical Art Rising Fang, albeit at the cost of an additional three Drive Gauges. Terry can optimize his routes accordingly depending on max damage and positioning.

Trivia

  • The stance Terry takes on the activation of this move is identical to the stance that Terry used to preform the Senpuuken technique in the Fatal Fury anime Legend of the Hungry Wolf to defeat Geese Howard, the attack even includes the blue energy that Terry surrounds himself with to use the move.
  • Terry's "Here's the big one!" line comes from his MAX Buster Wolf in The King of Fighters XIV, which was similarly used for the Buster Wolf in his Triple Wolf Final Smash in Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
