"Are you ready?"
"It's going to tax us to the limit—but we can do it."
―Qui-Gon Jinn and the captain about activating a tractor beam[1]

A captain served the royal fleet of the Pijali monarchy on the Inner Rim planet Pijal during the Republic Era. They commanded a Corellian corvette staffed by several crew members, including a comm officer and a security chief.[1]

In 40 BBY,[2] following the Pijali Queen Fanry's coronation, the captain betrayed their monarch by supporting the world's former regent, the Jedi Rael Averross, in his efforts to apprehend the recently crowned woman. They transported Averross and his companions—Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi—aboard their cruiser and toward the queen's flagship, the Righteous. At Jinn's directive, the captain locked a tractor beam on the Righteous, noting that it would strain their vessel. Not long after, Fanry surrendered aboard her flagship when held at blaster-point by her former attendant, Cady.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The captain appeared in Master & Apprentice, a 2019 novel written by Claudia Gray.[1]
