- "Not bad. Not bad. You know, if you'd only had this little green sylop, you would've beaten this."
- ―Han Solo to Lando Calrissian, winning the Millennium Falcon in a game of sabacc
Sylop (Old Corellian for "idiot") was a face card used in different variants of sabacc.
Description[]
Sylop was a face card used in different variants of sabacc. The word "Sylop" translates as "idiot in Old Corellian.[2]
Usage[]
Corellian Spike[]
In the Corellian Spike variant of sabacc, there were two copies of sylops per deck.[2] Like its equivalent in regular sabacc, the Idiot,[3] the sylop had a value of zero.[2]
Kessel Sabacc[]
In the Kessel Sabacc variant of sabacc there was only one sylop per deck.[4] Unlike Corellian Spike,[2] the sylop took the value of the other card in a player's hand resulting in what is known as Sylop Sabacc. However if player had played the Shift Token, Markdown, that round the sylop would be set to a value of zero. A pair of sylops in Kessel Sabacc was known as Pure Sabacc, and was the best hand in the game.[4]
