Rainchrome was a substance that could be used to make prosthetics.[1] By 228 BBY,[2] a specialist had at least one model of prosthetic hand created from the material.[1] That year,[2] the physicist Xylan Graf brought the specialist to the San Tekka manor's library on the planet Coruscant, and she displayed the polished rainchrome technology to Graf's husband, Cair San Tekka, as the latter had not yet replaced his cybernetic hand after losing his last one. However, when San Tekka firmly indicated that he did not wish for help in selecting new prosthetics, the specialist packed her wares and left.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Rainchrome appeared in the 2024 novel Temptation of the Force, written by Tessa Gratton and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III.[3]
