The Nikardun Destiny was the hegemony of the Nikardun species located inside the Unknown Regions of the galaxy. The nation had a great deal of influence and control over various societies of the Chaos and was presided over by Yiv the Benevolent at its height from his throne room aboard the Nikardun Battle Dreadnought Deathless.

Instigated by their allies, the warlike species known as the Grysk, and orchestrated by Yiv, the Nikardun Destiny attempted to conquer areas of the Unknown Regions, successfully subjugating or otherwise making allies of several species in the process. Eventually however this drew the attention of the Chiss Ascendancy, who captured Yiv near the Vak homeworld of Primea, becoming a prisoner of the Chiss.

Following his disappearance, no successor to Yiv was able to consolidate power and repair the damage the Chiss had done, who went on to eliminate any remaining Nikardun military presence several months after, having cleared out most of the Nikardun bases listed on General Yiv's questis data-link reader.

History[]

Attempted conquests[]

At the time of the Clone Wars, the Nikardun Destiny had began to invade a region of the Unknown Regions. Orchestrated by General Yiv, led the Nikardun conquests in an attempt to conquer various societies of the Chaos, successfully subjugating or otherwise making allies of several species. These campaigns eventually draw the attention of Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo "Thrawn" of the Chiss Ascendancy.[1]

After several encounters between the Destiny and Chiss Ascendancy, the Chiss were able to defeat the Nikardun Destiny in a final battle near the Vak homeworld of Primea with the aid of the Vak Combine, and captured Yiv, who became a prisoner of the Chiss Ascendancy.[1]

Scattered[]

«Yiv was the Nikardun Destiny. He was the undisputed leader. When he vanished… there was no one else who could take his place. No one who could continue the relationships he'd built with alien governments. The uncertainty over what had happened to him—that all by itself froze everyone's plans and thoughts. And when the Vaks started describing to everyone in the region how his ships had fired on them… It all just fell apart. Some of his chiefs are still talking about restarting their road of conquest, but no one believes it anymore. Even if they try, they'll just end up fighting among themselves.»
―Pathfinder navigator Qilori describes the Nikardun Destiny fall from grace to Jixtus[1]

The Nikardun conquests fell apart following the general's disappearance, with no successor to Yiv was able to consolidate power or repair the damage the Chiss Ascendancy had done to their empire and forced the Nikardun Destiny to scatter.[1]

During Yiv's interrogation, he revealed the locations of the scattered remnants of his forces. The Ascendancy's ruling Chiss Syndicure, by then fully convinced of the danger posed by the Nikardun Destiny, allowed the Chiss Defense Force to bend their non-aggression policy to hunt the remnants down.[2]

In one of these operations, the Chiss Ascendancy were able to successfully liberated Nettehi from the grip of the Nikardun after a plea for assistance from the Prince Militaire and his his people. Chiss Ascendancy had apparent threats against the Paataatus to "demonstrate the full military might of the Chiss Ascendancy", which were actually promises to act against the Nikardun occupying the system.[2]

Organization[]

Military[]

«It's amazing how the presence of Battle Dreadnoughts can smooth out a round of negotiations.»
―General Yiv the Benevolent[1]

The Destiny held a formidable fleet, using blockade frigates, destroyers, patrol craft, and various gunboats. The Deathless acted as the mobile capital, and was a Battle Dreadnought class. Nikardun soldiers acted as security guards for the Destiny.[1]

Astrography[]

The Nikardun Destiny was a hegemony in the Unknown Regions, where it had a large hegemonic influence and control over several subjugated governments. Examples of such under its yoke,[1] were the Lioaoin Regime, the Urchiv-ki Tower Dimension, and the Paataatus Hiveborn.[2]
