A field agent was a position within Alliance Intelligence. They are assigned to complete specific objectives by Alliance Intelligence's Operations division. After completing the mission, the operative returned to base. After twenty missions, field agents were either forced to retire or transfer to another department. The Galactic Empire was also known to make use of field agents.
