Sidney, better known as Sid is the deuteragonist of the Ice Age franchise. He is voiced by John Leguizamo.
What Makes Him a Shonen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Sid played a major role in saving the world from a massive meteorite.
- Courageous/Reckless: Though he can be cowardly at times, Sid rarely hesitates to save others.
- Energetic: Despite being a sloth, Sid has his moments of being manic and hyperactive.
- Stubborn: Sid decides to keep raising the T-Rex children despite Manny's objections.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Due to being viewed as a screw-up by his biological family who always leave him behind, Sid wants to gain the respect by his founded family.
- Unintelligent: Compare to his best friends Manny and Diego, Sid is the least intelligent as he is less knowledgeable and more naive than them.
- Hard-Working: Though he can be lazy at times, Sid can be diligent when it comes to nurturing children, specifically his adopted T-Rex children.
- Optimistic: Despite his misfortunes and the insecurities that are created within him as a result, Sid manages to get back up and move forward.
- Believes in the Power of Friendship: Diego openly admits that Sid is the reason why the herd is brought together and remain strong throughout their adventures.
- Possesses Plot Armor: If Buck, Crash and Eddie didn't save him from falling into the magma of Lava Falls, Sid would've been melted into ashes.
- Unnatural Hair Color: His fur is yellow, but it turns brown as the fungus on his pelt dried off.
- Big Eater: Sid can be seen stuffing his mouth with berries.
- Mischievous: Sid has moments of pulling pranks on his friends.
