Daroach (Dorocche in the Japanese version) is a recurring character in the Kirby series, first appearing in Kirby: Squeak Squad. He is the leader of The Squeaks, a group of thieving mice that came to Dream Land seeking treasure. Daroach likens himself as something of a gentleman thief, possessing a flair for the theatrical and a love for the ladies.

Daroach possesses magical powers, including the ability to levitate and teleport as well as summon beams of ice and conjure bombs out of thin air. His main weapon, a magical rod known as the Triple Star, lets him control three Sparkling Stars for attack and defense purposes.

Appearance[]

Daroach is a grey mouse with floating hands and feet akin to the character Rayman. He is shown wearing a red hat and cape and often carries the triple star in his hand.

Kirby series[]

Kirby: Squeak Squad[]

Daroach is the main antagonist of Kirby: Squeak Squad. He and his thieving Squeaks arrived in Dream Land one day seeking a treasure that "grants you the ultimate power" and begin stealing everything that isn't nailed down; including the strawberry shortcake that Kirby was going to have for dessert.

After numerous altercations between his group and Kirby, Daroach obtains a treasure chest that he believes contains his ultimate goal and opens it only to be possessed by an extraterrestrial being known as Dark Nebula, turning him into Dark Daroach. Dark Nebula had been secretly manipulating Daroach's ambitions from the start, with the intent to escape his ancient prison in the treasure chest. Thanks to Kirby, Daroach is ultimately freed from Dark Nebula's influence and as thanks offers him a new cake to apologize for the one his team stole at the start of the game.

Kirby Mass Attack[]

In Kirby Mass Attack, he has come to the Popopo Islands to search for the medals there, and he requests the Kirbys find them. His airship appears after the Kirbys make it through five stages in Green Grounds, and it is accessible from the stage select screen. After completing each island, another member of the Squeak Squad joins Daroach on his airship (except after clearing Volcano Valley and Necro Nebula).

When he is visited, he tells the Kirbys a small fact about something relating to the islands or otherwise, and then gives out hints for the Kirbys so that they can find the medals scattered across the four main islands.

Kirby: Planet Robobot[]

Daroachmakes an appearance in Kirby: Planet Robobot as a set of two stickers that can be applied to the Robobot Armor.

Kirby Star Allies[]

Daroach returned in Kirby Star Allies as a Dream Friend included in the Wave 2 update. He uses attacks inspired by his boss fight from Kirby Squeak Squad and was released alongside Dark Meta Knight and Adeleine/Ribbon. He can also summon Doc, Spinni, Storo, different types of Squeakers, and a treasure chest containing a Jack-in-the-box Dark Nebula.

Super Smash Bros. series[]

Super Smash Bros. Brawl[]

Daroach made an appearance as a sticker in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. When applied to a character, the sticker will give a +24 boost to electric attacks.
