A 40th Anniversary and a Fabby NEW TOY!

Evening all!

Apparently it was a really warm day today??? Not that I noticed while I was converting my car 'James Bond style' into a boat this morning to get to work!

Thought I was going to crash at one point when a truck driving in the other direction drove through a swimming pool on the road and drowned my car - couldn't see a thing in front of me! Lucky I am still here and praying for the sun to please make an appearance next week when I'm off on holiday!

One of my friends was having a wee wander through Facebook a wee while ago and came across my craft album, she then decided that I'm just the person she was looking for and I have so far made 6 cards for her. I love all my crafting and making cards, but making them to order for other people makes me sweat buckets! I suppose if they don't like them you can always use them in the future for someone else though ey?!

Fortunately, she has loved everything I have made her so far. It's her Mum and Dad's 40th wedding anniversary on 17th of this month and I made this wee card for her:

I didn't use any PP as I wanted the red for the ruby wedding to stand out quite a bit, and I also couldn't really find a lot of red PP to play with :o(. If anyone knows where I can get some nice red papers PLEASE let me know...

The stamp is from LOTV, coloured with my PMs, the little bell charm is from Mei Flower and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. CS cut with Nesties Labels - like this one as it is quite similar in shape to the card I have used.
Now - let me introduce you to my new toy. It's a FOILING MACHINE. Yes - no more peel off greetings for me! Billy (lovely hubby person) got me a Laser Printer for my chrimbo (as you need to print the greeting on one for the foil to stick to it). You print your greeting, make sure your Foil It machine is hot enough (has a wee ready light - so really 'dummy proof'), stick your greeting through the machine with the foil colour of your choice wrapped in a wee bitty of paper (so the foil sticks to card and not machine) - and it come out all supercalafragilistic at the other end!!! Doesn't it look fabby-do! I love it. Want to foil everything now! Foil comes in loads of different colours too. Wait til you see the Christening card I made with the pink foil for the greetings - see - it's even made me like PINK!!! Love it, love it! If you'd like to be the lucky owner of this fabglorious machine you can buy one from Patsy May HERE, and postage is just a wee £1 at the moment for a limited time! All the foil is there too - go on - you know you wanna :oD

Also foiled this wee sentiment! Told you - no stopping me now - you can even print digi images or any image really and then use one of the colours (or more than one if you like) to make it all shiney, shiney!!

Do you think I really like my new machine then??

I'd like to enter the above wee card into the following challenges:

Oldie but a Goodie - Wedding or Anniversary
Craft Your Passions - Challenge #52 Anything Goes
Charisma Cardz Challenge - 14 Weddings/ Anniversaries
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes (optional extra - my new flowers from Wild Orchid)
The Crazy Challenge - #61 Just Add Flowers

Thanks once again for looking and any comments you are kind enough to leave.

I'm away to have a HUGE M & S Cookie (mmmmm) and that lovely hubby person I was talking about earlier is making me a nice cuppa to go with it - might even give him one ;o)

Hop to it!

Hi there.

Just on for a few minutes to post my most recent card. It's a boys card. Probably meant for a little boy, but I think it will be going to my BIL. I usually make him a footy card as he's footy nuts, but I think this wee card will make a change.

Here it is:

The stamp is from Ladybug Crafts Ink - Little Jack chasing a Frog. This wee chap is soooo cute. He reminds me of my boys. Look at his wee cheeks, all puffed out from chasing the frog, do you think he'll catch it - who knows, but he'll be really tired after all that running and be in his bed early, good news for his mum LOL. The sentiment on the card was a Happy Birthday one, but I changed the 'A' in 'Happy' to an 'O'. Well, how could I resist?

I coloured Jack and the frog with my Promarkers and glossy accented the frog to make him look like, well, a frog! I also cut around the stamp to make it look like the frog is trying extra hard to get away by jumping out of the frame, and I also added 3-d squares to the frog part to make him stand out from the papers.

This wee frog that I have used for an embellishment is from my friend Pat over at Patsy May she has some great embellishments that you can use on cards and then iron them onto clothes afterwards (multi purpose embellishments!)

Part of the challenge that the above card is for had an option to decorate the inside of the card. I've never done this before and I must say it is very effective. This may become a permanent addition to my card making!

Okay - off to post it onto the challenge now at Ladybug Crafts Ink - First Ever Challenge . Why don't you pop on over and have a go. You'll have to be quick though coz the end date is tomorrow!

See ya later-gaters (as my 13 year old would say!)

A Cracker of a Christmas

Hello

Not been on for a few days. Was busy with Halloween and a wee jaunt to the SECC for the Craft Fair.

I won a wee stamp over on LadybugCrafts Ink and finished the card I was making with it last night. I wanted to upload then, but my camera decided that its batteries needed charging - so had to wait until this morning for pics!

Here it is in all its glory:

I love it, love it, love it, aren't they a sweet couple. I kinda based the colours on the ones my hubby and I would have worn when we were that age. Hence the reddish hair on Nikki and the Black on Ben (well - my hubby's hair used to be black, it's gone a bit silvery/grey now, and he says it's my fault flamin' cheek, dunno what he means!!!). The base card is a piece of A5 textured card folded in half and a cracker shape cut into it.  The paper on the top and bottom of the Cracker and on the label are a vellum from my stash that I've had for donkey's years - so don't have a clue where I got it.

I coloured Nikki and Ben with my Koh-I-Noors, with Promarkers for their skin and then cut them out so I could mount them on 3-d foam pads. I then used some glamour dust on Nikki's clothes, added a gem to her hat and I don't know if you can really see it, but I glossy accented Ben's hair so that it looked gelled (sp?).

The poinsettias are ones I have had for a couple of years, got them from my good friend Pat from Patsy May. I added some gold stickles to them to make them a bit sparkly.

The sentiment is under the label on the Cracker. In Glasgow (and other parts of Scotland) we refer to hooking up with someone as 'pulling' (as in when you've been out for a night out your friend might say 'so did you pull tonight then?'. I don't know if this applies to other parts of the globe - maybe so. Anyhoo, I used the wee sentiment here for a bit of fun! Designed and printed from my very own PC.

So that's my card - hope you like it, and any comments are much appreciated.

Off now to wrestle a 3 year old into a bath and maybe this afternoon I will get to play a bit more.
