The Crafting Cafe Challenge No. 4

Good Morning

I thought summer was just around the corner, but it seems to have done a runner again!

Oh well - just have to craft in the warm then, no complaints from me there...

This is the card I have made for The Crafting Cafe's new monthly challenge, which you can enter here.

I used two Bugaboo digi images, one was a freebie that I received a while ago for subscribing to the Bugaboo Newsletter, you can visit Bugaboo here, where you will find a digi image for every occasion.

I used a cuttlebug tree die for the little trees, Promarkers for colouring and Ransom stamps for the lettering. I also used patterned papers from a freebie pack that came with a card mag for the background, and used it to paper-piece the little car as I thought it looked a wee bit like a love-bug.

Hope you like my wee card, and pop over to The Crafting Café Blog to enter the new monthly challenge.

Ingredients:
Images: Bugaboo
Medium: Promarkers
Sentiment: Royal & Langnickel Ransom Alphabet Stamps
Card Stock: from stash
Patterned Papers: Free with magazine
Embellishments: Cuttlebug tree die

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Challenge Number 3 - The Crafting Cafe

Good Morning Crafters

This month over at The Crafting Café the challenge is Let's Celebrate.

I love a party and any excuse to celebrate. Love to dance and sing and generally enjoy myself, after all life is far too short!

Our sponsor this month is Crafty Sentiments Designs and you can visit their website here. I have used Poppy and Henry, two little bears in love xx

This is the card I made:

I used a shaped card and scored it to turn it into an easel card. I think used a sizzix die to cut out the loveheart frame and added the image behind.

I used punched butterflies with added bling to decorate the card, and a Gold Letraset Metallic Marker for the borders on the card.

The image is coloured with my Promarkers and the sentiment is a LOTV stamp, edged with the Gold Metallic Marker to tie in with the rest of the card.

Ingredients:
Image: Poppy & Henry from Crafty Sentiments Designs
Medium: Promarkers & Metallic Markers
Embellishments: Butterfly & circle punches punch, gold mirricard, red gems & sizzix heart frame die.

So pop on over to The Crafting Café and join in the fun this month.

Love n kisses

Challenge Number 2 at The Crafting Cafe

Morning Crafters and any others popping in for a visit!

It's the second challenge over at The Crafting Café and this time the Challenge is 'Your Favourite Colour'. We are sponsored this time by Delicious Doodles

and you can visit their shop here.

As I mentioned above the challenge this time is to use your favourite colour. I love blue! I also love black (when I was young my dad called my wardrobe the bruise, coz everything in it was black and blue - a bit of useless info for you there LOL). My card has a combination of these colours, and here it is:

I coloured the image using Promarkers (listed below). Mostly grey, but with a little hint of blue on the eyes (which I have glossy accented), feather and flower. I decoupaged the butterflies and coloured them blue with a hint of lemon and added glossy accents all over them. I then die cut the image with my Spellbinders and mounted it onto some mirricard. The script in the background is blue mirricard which I have embossed with a script embossing folder and sanded and added a metal corner. The rest of the background is black pearlescent card.

The stick pins and flowers I have picked up from various places along the way, but I couldn't get flowers the colour of blue that I wanted so...TOP TIP: I used my Promarkers to colour white mulberry flowers the exact colour I wanted them!!! I added a heart charm and some fabulous lacy ribbon (can't remember where I got this, but I really NEED some more).

The WISH ticket sentiment I made on my PC, printed, foiled (in blue of course) and die cut with a Whimsy ticket die.

Ingredients:
Image: Butterfly Bliss from Delicious Doodles
Medium: Promakers in Ice Grey 1-5, Polar Blue, April Showers, Icicle, Arctic Blue, Powder Blue, Aegean, Azure, Sky Blue, Lemon, Blender.
Sentiment: Computer Generated
Papers: Silver and Blue Mirricard. Black Pearlescent Card.
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts and various other craft shop buys.
Embellishments: Glossy Accents, Heart Charm, Lacy Ribbon, Leaf and Gem stick pins, Moonstone Brad, Metal Corner, and Moonstone Gems

I hope you like my card, and now you have to let me see your card made using your favourite colour over on The Crafting Café Challenge Blog. There is a prize this time of 4 wonderful digi stamps from our sponsor, so get on over there and enter!

Love n kisses

The Crafting Cafe Challenge Blog - First Challenge

Hi there

It's the big launch of The Crafting Cafe Challenge Blog.

The first challenge is up and running over here.

The Challenge is sponsored by LEJ Designs

and you can visit her wonderful digi images here.

Now the First Challenge on the blog is nice and easy, Anything Goes! I have used a digi image from LEJ Designs called 'An Angels Touch' and it is available to buy from LEJ Designs website.

This is my card
It's a twisted easel card (only my second time doing one of these and I do quite like them). I used very muted colours, I was originally going to just stick to white on white, but decided that the wee touch of gold just set the card off.

This is a close-up of the image

I decided to try something a wee bit different with the wings and used some maribu feathers to decorate them. I think they look really effective and like a real angels wings (Yes - angels are real, and you won't change my mind!). I coloured the hair and skin with my promarkers and used gold mirricard for the backing. The butterflies are also from gold mirricard with some bling added.

This is the sentiment

Very fitting for the card. I have a guardian angel, but that is a long story for another day :) xx

Now pop on over to The Crafting Cafe Blog to enter your card, you might even win 4 fab digis from LEJ, and see some more inspiration from the other members of the DT. New wonderful inspiration will be posted throughout the month!

Love n Kisses

A Review of The Docrafts Creativity Club

Good Morning 2013!

I have not been around for many moons, but this year I intend to get my blog up and running again :oD.

I spend a lot of time on Facebook now, where quite a few of my crafting friends live. While on there a few days ago I saw a request from Emma Collins (the Creativity Club Manager) for some people who are Docrafts members, but not Club members, to do a review on the Club.

I was given access to the club for a few hours in order to have a look around and play to see what my thoughts were.

Welllll - how could I resist. I was thinking about joining the Club when it first opened, but fear of the unknown and all that (and the fact that my kids have me robbed blind), I didn't bother at the time.

After having a good old play and checking out all of the content in the Club I must say I am very impressed. For the not so pricely sum of £24 for 12 month (YES - just £2 a month!) you have access to the following:

1. Club TV - An area where you can view all different kids of demos presented by real crafters, who know what they are talking about. With step-by-step demos on how to create a number of items from different shaped cards to clocks. A brilliant area for those of us who aren't so good at following the picture tutorials.

2. Exclusive Forum - Just for Club members where you can discuss all items relating to the Club (i.e. help with projects etc) or just for a general chit-chat, something we crafts love to do just as much as crafting :oD.

3.  Projects - An area where you can follow step-by-step picture tutorials on how to create a variety of different items Exclusive to the club like gift bags, photo holders, cards, jewellery and gift boxes to name but a few. Easy to follow instructions on how to make each item.

4. Downloads - A priceless area which allows you access to Exclusive content not available to anyone else. Papers can be downloaded that match the Docrafts Range of Products, Templates for the Projects, Digistamps, Jewellery Making, Decoupage Sheets, samples of up and coming ranges, the list goes on.

5. Magazine Library - Where you can access full back issues of the Docrafts Magazine. A must if you want to see something in a magazine that you might have missed, or if , like me, you have so much craft stuff, you just can't find the magazine that you want!

On top of all this you also get 15% reduction in the Docrafts Online Store!! as we as reduced P & P. I also spied Exclusive Offers on items for Creativity Club members. Along with Club Member prize draws!

As if that wasn't enough, once you join you also get a free goody bag with your first order. This includes a set of clear stamps, a mug, a cotton bag, a mouse mat and a Club Member badge!

I have a birthday coming up soon and I think this is going to be on my list. With all your crafting needs in just one place, how can I resist, How can you resist!!!

At only £24 for 12 months OR £13.50 for 6 months why not give it a try.

For more information and details of how to subscribe please pop over to Docrafts

Thanks Emma for the opportunity to view the Club and all it has to offer.

Go on - go and join! You know you want to. It costs less than a mag per month and has loads of useful content, which is updated regularly.

Mirror, mirror....

...on the wall!

Good afternoon bloggers!

I've not been around for many moons again. What with kids starting school (Ross for the first time!) I have been busy, busy.busy with life and not had a lot of time for crafting.

I did get my Craft Stamper mag though and have been having a dabble with some inks and metal tape, inspired by one of their articles and made a nice wee mirror (that my mum is currently trying to nick as she has 'the perfect spot for it').

Here it is:

The mirror is from a v.famous Swedish shop and I covered it in my new bestest friend (metal tape), after sticking some embellies to it. I then alcohol-inked the metal tape and used more metal tape to die-cut the flowers and butterflies.

I then die cut letters for the words Mirror, mirror (you can see them on the top right of mirror) and used my dymo to type out 'on the wall' onto some copper tape. (bottom left of pic)

I had a ball doing this mirror (thank you Craft Stamper for the info and inspiration).

I'm off to a craft meet in about a week and am taking my metal tape with me to show people how easy it is to use.

I LOVE my mirror - and being my first one my mum will have a fight on her hands getting it off me LOL.

Hope you like it too!

Lynne xx
