The Sea Serpent (シーサーペント, Shīsāpento?), also known as Young-D, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy II. True to its name, it is serpentine dragon-like creature typically encountered at sea.
Appearances[]
Final Fantasy II[]
The Sea Serpent appears as an enemy exclusive to the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary releases, encountered in Raqia. Its attacks may inflict Paralysis due to its constricting body. The Sea Serpent can also use Tsunami VIII, which deals Changeable damage to the entire party.

In the original release it can be encountered in the surface world's rivers; in subsequent remakes, it is instead found in the outer seas of the Floating Continent. As a water-bound enemy, it is weak to Lightning-elemental attacks. It is only mildly powerful, and can be dealt with with relative ease.
Final Fantasy XIV[]
Sea serpentsare a family of large serpentine wavekin. While at home in saltwater, in recent years they have been migrating inland to fresh water, and are fully capable of traversing on land.
Final Fantasy Legend III[]
The Young-D appears as an enemy and potential transformation for party members.

It can be imprismed with a Sea Serpent Prism after hitting it with a water-elemental attack, and can be transfigured with the Elasmos and Sea Snake.
