NCAA Men's Basketball Yearly Team Articles
I want to drop you a line to let you know that the standard for the NCAA men's basketball yearly team articles, such as 2011–12 Gardner–Webb Runnin' Bulldogs men's basketball team, is two categories. The first category is the conference's season category, such as Category:2011–12 Atlantic Coast Conference men's basketball season The second category is the team's seasons category, such as Category:Florida Gators men's basketball seasons. Further categories are discouraged because it inevitably results in over-categorization and redundancy. City boy77 (talk) 03:35, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you! That's one thing I wasn't sure of when tagging it. I'll make sure to follow that in the future. Thanks again!
Tag on Jack Horgan
It should've been a G10 tag. See WP:CSD for more details. Thanks. →Στc. 03:41, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
- As above, genuinely I say thank you. I am just getting used to "Twinkle" and the CSD tags. I didn't recognize the "attack" tag before, and you had changed it before I had a chance to. Thanks!
Hello there!
Thank you for (barnstar). I really appreciate that. Have a good day my friend :) ... S∃AN (Hit) 04:05, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

November 2011
Hello Gwickwire. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know however, regarding Levi Walter Mengel, that tagging articles for speedy deletion moments after creation as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3) and articles created through the Article Wizard, is too fast. It's best to wait at least 10 - 15 minutes for more content to be added, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), pure vandalism (G3), and copyright violations (G12) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks.→Στc. 02:30, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
Judge William Adams
Whatever your views on the description of the link, there is absolutely no reason delete the link itself. Judge Adams is a notable person by the name of William Adams, and therefore should be listed in the list of pages of people by that name. Feel free to alter the description if you think it's necessary, but you should leave the link itself alone. I'm going to change it back in the meantime. Nile764 (talk) 03:04, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
New Page Patrolling
Hi. Thank you for patrolling new pages. I'm just letting you know that I have placed a WP:BLPPROD on an article you recently patrolled at Binta Brown. Please note that biographies of living persons must have at least one relevant source - if not they are to be tagged with WP:BLPPROD. Thanks and happy patrolling! --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:29, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
RE: A barnstar for you!
Thank you very much. I like to think of this large project as a hobby of sorts; that's what keeps me sane. Happy editing! --Merovingian (T, C, L) 04:53, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
Your recent edits
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 04:57, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
New Page patrol - Survey
New page patrol – Survey Invitation Hello Gwickwire/Archive November 2011! The WMF is currently developing new tools to make new page patrolling much easier. Whether you have patrolled many pages or only a few, we now need to know about your experience. The survey takes only 6 minutes, and the information you provide will not be shared with third parties other than to assist us in analyzing the results of the survey; the WMF will not use the information to identify you.
Please click HERE to take part. You are receiving this invitation because you have patrolled new pages. For more information, please see NPP Survey Manually delivered. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 05:05, 2 November 2011 (UTC) |
patrolling
A considerable number of the deletion tags you have placed have been modified or removed by several administrators an d other editors. I urge you to read WP:Deletion Policy and WP:CSD before doing further patrolling. Please note in particular the alternatives to deletion, such as merging and redirecting, and also that the requirement for passing csd A7 is not actual notability but the much weaker criterion of any indicated significance or importance, And, as my colleague Kudpung mentions, you have also been missing a number of severe problems. Some of your tagging is excessive: it is usually not helpful to indicate every single possible overlapping problem, when some of the problems are particularly severe--it distracts people from the essentials. Patrolling requires accuracy and experience. Much of what you are doing is very good --but perhaps it would be better to try to get some more practice in improving unsatisfactory articles, such as by adding sources . You would be doing very valuable work here, if you took things more carefully. DGG ( talk ) 03:04, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

Feedback Dashboard task force
Hi Gwickwire,
I noticed you replied to some feedback from the new Feedback Dashboard feature – you might be interested in the task force Steven Walling and I just created for this purpose: Wikipedia:Feedback Dashboard. Thanks for diving in on your own and helping the newbies, and I hope you'll sign up! Maryana (WMF) (talk) 00:20, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for inviting me! I have joined this task force. Anything else you need, just post it here! Also, I was wondering if there was an easy way to know when new feedback is added, so I don't keep going to the page and finding nothing new? Gwickwire (talk) 00:29, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
- Excellent, welcome aboard! :) Unfortunately, right now there's no way to watchlist a special page, but Tech is currently working on the next phase of the tool and I'll be sure they keep this in mind. We'll keep you posted on the latest updates. Maryana (WMF) (talk) 00:49, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
Thanks

Hi. I've just deleted the page you recreated because it hadn't been patrolled. I'm just letting you know that there is no need to do this, and it just complicates things. Happy editing! --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 10:41, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for letting me know you nominated the article above for deletion for lack of references. I have added a reference to it now. Ottawahitech (talk) 00:41, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks again for removing the PROD notice. Ottawahitech (talk) 00:48, 18 November 2011 (UTC)

Hi Gwickwire,
Thanks for signing up for the Feedback Dashboard response team! I wanted to let you know that the tool just got an important update (see here for details). I also wanted to invite you to the IRC office hours session that Steven and I are going to hold this Sunday, December 4. Hope you can make it and share your experience/questions with us! Thanks again, Maryana (WMF) (talk) 23:44, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
