Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Xaosflux (talk | contribs) at 00:19, 1 June 2021 (Wikipedia:Inactive administrators/2021#June 2021: new section). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

To contact bureaucrats to alert them of an urgent issue, please post below.
For sensitive matters, you may contact an individual bureaucrat directly by e-mail.
You may use this tool to locate recently active bureaucrats.

The Bureaucrats' noticeboard is a place where items related to the Bureaucrats can be discussed and coordinated. Any user is welcome to leave a message or join the discussion here. Please start a new section for each topic.

This is not a forum for grievances. It is a specific noticeboard addressing Bureaucrat-related issues. If you want to know more about an action by a particular bureaucrat, you should first raise the matter with them on their talk page. Please stay on topic, remain civil, and remember to assume good faith. Take extraneous comments or threads to relevant talk pages.

If you are here to report that an RFA or an RFB is "overdue" or "expired", please wait at least 12 hours from the scheduled end time before making a post here about it. There are a fair number of active bureaucrats; and an eye is being kept on the time remaining on these discussions. Thank you for your patience.

This admin has not edited since June 2020, and has only 4 edits since August 2019. Unless I'm reading their log wrong, they haven't performed an admin function since September 2018 when they deleted a test page in their own user space, and before that in June 2015 when they moved some pages. [1]

My question is the obvious one: why does this person still have the bit?

Just to be clear, I have no complaint about Electionworld's editing or other behavior (not that there's been any to speak of), I simply came across them by happenstance and wondered what the story was. Beyond My Ken (talk) 05:18, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • What? They still have the bit because they have not gone a year without any edit or logged action. You said so yourself, they edited in June 2020. Ben · Salvidrim!  05:40, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • What Salvidrim said. They'll get desysopped on 1 July if they don't return to editing. Sdrqaz (talk) 07:33, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • We are a volunteer community, people are free to come and go. If someone goes for less than a year we assume that things have not changed so much that they can't resume where they left off, more than a year and we desysop them for inactivity. If you don't like the policy, and want to change it to something like "or desysop if they have less than 200 edits and admin actions in the last five years", this is not the venue to change that policy, as we apply the community policy on this, we don't create or amend it. • Can we stop calling out individual admins by name when they’re being insufficiently active? I feel like it creates more problems than it solves. —pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 10:50, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
