Nancy Steinbeck vandalism

Thank you for correcting the libelous, slanderous and erroneous vandalism that occured to the Nancy Steinbeck site regarding accusations of fraud and other misrepresentations. The person who vadalized the site is very sick, and lawyers are watching her stalking behavior. Could you please keep an eye on the site and continue to revert the material back to the original text? She re-posted her venom immediately after you made the correction.

Please Help

Sorry but you were the only person who left a link on my page, im wondering if you can help me? Images are not loading on the wikipedia site, they are coming up with small crosses, is there anything i can do?

In reply, thanks for trying to help but not looging in for a few days seems to have cleared the problem, apparently the area i live in has a weak internet connection and sometimes things like this happen. Thanks for helping i appreciate it.

That article on sn00ker has been taken off, just to let you know. What a waste!

I'm trying to contribute to the God article

Sheesh, so snooty. How does one break through this insular druid clique?

I say:

Yes, I am the author and sole copyright holder and it is an adapted summary - i.e. not the scientific publication, which was published by the Somali National University - it is there in the library but is not on the internet. I therefore believe that your argumentation holds no ground.

See, I am not interested to edit factual wrong stubs, which were created by copying wrong info from an xyz website to wikipedia. I wanted to contribute significantly, but if the admins and others do not like it or make things overly difficult, then I just leave it, though I feel that to create such hickups is against the spirit of Wikipedia.

I saw that you changed a bunch of plural links to plural links. I'm very confused; why is your way better? I've watchlisted your talk page; you can reply right here. --Smack (talk) 20:14, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

Well, I was editing the page for something else, and saw the links of the form plural links, and I just assumed that they would look funny -- like bears -- so I thought I was cleaning them up. Now that I poke around a little more, I see that the wiki engine displays bears as bears, which is pretty clever. So I was making entirely useless changes. Oh well -- feel free to revert them or leave them, I guess it doesn't make any difference, and now I know better! bikeable (talk) 20:22, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

nominating on AfD

G'day Bikeable,

the trend of nominators voting came about because one closing admin (I forget who, but I suspect it might have been User:Tony Sidaway – it often is) announced he wasn't counting nominations as votes. Suddenly a bunch of nominators started adding explicit "votes", and one user even modified the AfD page to say "you should vote to begin consensus-building", which is the closest thing to nonsense on stilts you'll find in a Wikipedia guideline. My problem with nominators voting (apart from the sheer repetitive inelegance of it) is that: a) it discourages well-written nominations, since the nominator's intention is summed up with a simple "delete" (or, occasionally, merge or speedy delete, because people are silly); and b) it encourages the perception that AfD is a vote. AfD is not a vote, although it has vote-like aspects ;-), and a well-written argument for deletion is worth several times its value as a "vote". Cheers, fuddlemark (fuddle me!) 03:07, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

Puzzled by edit

On hiking you changed several links from the form cougars to cougars. Why? The software is specifically written to allow the simpler first format and show the entire word as a highlighted link. Is there some issue that would make it desirable to change it? Rmhermen 05:17, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

Opps!

User:CyclePat/My voting statistic on articles for deletion ... would be the correct format. Thank you. That's what happens when you do things in a hurry. Thank you again. Fixing it right now. --CylePat 22:37, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

Templates about bicycling

Well, not only a few of us are cyclists... We are scattered all over the Wikipedia! See for example Category:Wikipedians interested in bicycling (with 19 users), and Category:Wikipedian cyclists (with 6 users and... two templates!). I suggest a unification, what do you think about? On the other hand, I think it's beautiful the image you chose, so, if Chris the speller agrees with us, we could change it. Or, we all could use this one or this one. Yo. Regarding Tuff boxx, I just thought it might be helpful to you to know that as of a few days ago, the template db-band can be used to speedy delete non-notable bands, under CSD A7. Re Remagine vandalism

When I went to list him I discovered that he had already been listed with a note that he had requested to be blocked as I had added that note to his talk page. I proceeded to add a link to it under the block request, but discovered he had already been blocked. I have had an extensive email dialogue with the user in question. He is pretty pissed about trademark infringement. I advised him to take it up with permissions/wikimedia folk and possibly contacting the Dutch group if he has international trademark status. The blocking admin gave him similar advice on the talk page of an IP that he was using after he was blocked. The page is now semiprotected with the tag on it. He seems to have stopped for now. If REMAGINE doesn't appear in the next couple of days I will remove the tag and list his image (Image:Remaginewiki.jpg) for deletion. WAvegetarian (talk) (email) (contribs) 09:50, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

I should have gone to bed long ago, however staying up has allowed me further communication with the "vandal." He just sent me a rather cordial email explaining how he isn't a bad person, just someone who has been writing code for 20 hours straight. I think he has legitimate points. I have advised him to bring them up on the talk page of the article whe the block expires. He will not be vandalizing the page any longer. I have explained relevant policies regarding naming conventions and hope I have allayed (alaid, it's too late to think right now) some of his fears regarding how the article ranks on google. We are working it out offsite and it will no longer be a problem. I ask that you keep the page on your watchlist to see what he puts on the talk page. not nonsense

We have evidence that Me Og and Ugga indeed existed and were inventors, mathematicians, and scientists of their day. Give us a chance to write this article and give citations. We have taught about Og and Ugga. For example, see mathematical history about bone calculators using base thirty arithmetic and about the nearly perfect circle. This is important information.

Self-defeating personality disorder contribution

Check the external links for my source for the diagnostic criteria for this personality disorder. I am of the understanding that the inclusion of DSM diagnostic criteria is acceptable on Wikipedia based on their existence in numerous articles. You are certainly mistaken about the copyright holder. Although Psychnet-UK.com has reprinted the diagnostic criteria from the DSM, they are not the copyright holder; they merely have the first page that comes up when performing a Google search for self-defeating personality disorder and sadistic personality disorder. --NeantHumain 22:40, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

Hi again. I can't really say I'm interested in having a lengthy discussion on copyright issues. The DSM is psychiatry's bible. It's a big fat book listing descriptions, diagnostic criteria, and other information about all kinds of psychiatric disorders. It also contains some appendices as many books do. One of the appendices apparently contains disorders that, for various reasons, are not part of the formal diagnostic taxonomy for the time being. Self-defeating personality disorder, sadistic personality disorder, and depressive personality disorder are among these. They are included to continue research into their validity and usefulness. I do not know APA's position on the use of DSM materials on Wikipedia, but it is already prolific (look up nearly any of the DSM's disorders), so I am merely keeping with current practice. I do not know whether Wikipedia has obtained the right permission to have DSM diagnostic criteria listed, but this article isn't exactly a novel case. Sadly, I have very little interest in formal procedure, policy, and other bureaucratic matters; so I suggest you pursue this matter with someone who might be better acquainted with what copyright permissions the American Psychiatric Association has granted Wikipedia. Again, I only see a precedent which says diagnostic criteria from the DSM is acceptable material here.--NeantHumain 00:06, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

fightdemback.com article

Hey, I noted you put the notice up on the Fightdemback.com article.

Almost the entire article was a fairly mad smear article written by a noted Sydney neo-nazi (darrinh) who has a bit of a beef with FDB due to this article;- http://www.fightdemback.org/2005/12/19/who-is-who-in-the-nazi-zoo/ (Copied from the daily telegraph which is no longer available)

The only real non defamatory stuff in the wikipedia article was the name of the site and the fact its an anti-racist group. The utter nonsense about pornography is pure garbage, and asserting that the group is comprised of "anarchists and communists" etc, a common smear the far right uses against anyone left of ghengis khan, is just plain unfair and wrong. FDB is a respected organisation that has provided consultation to legislators, expert witnesses in courtrooms, and intelligence consulting to federal and state police agencies, among other things. Its a community group, that yes, does have a bite.

How would I go about calling for a deletion vote? I could rewrite a new article, but I am involved with the group (I'm a security studies lecturer in perth, and provide some consulting to the group as well as assist with the website) , so I would probably require someone to go over it to point out obvious POV errors.

Personally I'd rather just have the thing deleted. I'll be the first to admit I'm a little rusty with wikipedia layout conventions.

- DuckMonster.

Seems that Mr. DuckMonster is not telling the whole truth. Most of the forum members of fightdemback are self admitted marxists. They were booted from their previous hosting provider for storing adult material in breach of the TOS. Unfair and Wrong?, perhaps Mr DuckMonster you should have considered that beforehand and that user profile that one of you created about me in wikipedia was just plain silly. - darrin.

Bacon and egg pie

I don't think the comment that Wikipedia isn't a recipe book is useful. Bacon and Egg pie is a culturally significant UK food. There are a heap of obscure US foods like Pot pie that have articles. While the current article is a stub, it does provide the basic information to differentiate between Bacon and egg pie and Quiche, a food uniformed barbarians may mistakenly think is similar. Alex Law 02:28, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

i -- thanks for the note. That's fine, a little more research shows me it's pretty well used and significant enough. Sorry if I was too quick on the deletion tag -- fortunately, prod lends itself to an easy removal. I would ask you to add a sentence or two about the cultural significance, if you can -- even a statement of where it is popular would give it some context. thanks! bikeable (talk) 03:00, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

Unfortunately as a first generation Australian of UK extraction, I can't give much info on the regional/cultural importance of Bacon and egg pie, that would have to come from someone in the UK. I do know that it is a UK derived dish, and, like Corned beef pie is a common picnic food for expat Brits in Oz. There's been quite a lot of angst over pies lately, one user wanted to pull the savoury ones all under Pot pie, which wasn't very useful. How did you find the CBP article?Alex Law 03:16, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

hi

Hi, I'm not sure how else to contact you, so I'm scrawling this on your user talk page. I created an article yesterday called transheterozygote, and I see that you put some boxes at the top, one says that I didn't discuss the importance of the topic (which is true, I might go fix that sometime), and the other box says that I didn't cite my sources. I wrote that whole article based only on one source, and I cited it at the bottom. Is there something I'm missing? If so, please let me know. Thanks!

please remove speedy deletion

Please remove the speedy deletion on User talk talk:Get-back-world-respect. There is currently a dispute up on AN/I about whether that user should be allowed to delete his User Talk space. That user has put up an invalid speedy deletion on their user talk space. As a result of that (and the fact it is protected so it cannot be removed), there is automatically created a talk page for that....since it's a user talk page being deleted, it now becomes User talk talk. Get it? The Speedy Deletion needs to be removed. Once the User Talk page is unprotected and the speedy delete moved from there, everything on the User talk talk page will be merged back into the User talk page.

Got it? SWATJester Ready Aim Fire! 21:08, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Please, all I want is to get my pages deleted and to withdraw from the project. I have the right for that as can be seen here. Swatjester seems to be out for his personal crusade against me. I find it quite pathetic that even when withdrawing people are getting kicked at here. The only wrongdoing I had was a 3RR for which I was blocked for 24 hrs. Now I am being treated like a criminal. They even blocked my talk page and removed my request to get it deleted and my statement that I wanted to retreat and get no further messages there. If people want to oppose a delete there is an extra page for it, no need to deface my page. Please add my statements and request of deletion to my protected page. 84.59.79.243 21:31, 16 February 2006 (UTC) (formerly get-back-world-respect)

How easy is this? If you want to leave, then leave! If you have no intentions of coming back, then it shouldn't matter what's on your user page. You cannot delete it as per the criteria of speedy deletions does not allow it. Further more, I like how you link to the "extra page" after having deleted all the opposition to it on that page....twice. SWATJester Ready Aim Fire! 21:43, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

What exactly is it that makes you waste nearly all of your time harrassing me? I want to withdraw without leaving a page where people like you throw mud at me and I have the right to get my pages deleted. Your opposition was deleted after my page was deleted and it was hence obsolete. 84.59.79.243 21:50, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

I disagree with your listing my previous submission for deletion, but I am unsure whether this is the apporpriate place for this "discussion" to take place. Nevertheless, the article is entitled the Hypermodernity Club, and you seemed to dismiss it quite flippantly, not to mention that I perused your interests and continental thought was conspiciously absent. PROD and Gate to destiny

I noticed you added a prod tag to this article and write to explain my subsequent removal of the tag. Consistent with WP:PROD, after a tag has once been removed, it should not be re-added, irrespetive of the propriety of the original removal or the (arguably) untoward behavior of the remover in failing to explain his/her removal on the talk page or in an edit summary. Even as I likely will vote to delete the article should it be listed on AfD (I'm not convinced that it's original research, at least in view of our general tendency against ascribing that appellative to sundry video game summaries, notwithstanding some of my objections to that [ostensibly settled] policy), I don't think we should act contrary to policy here, and I expect you simply didn't notice that the prod tag had already been added and subsequently been removed (I, myself, having made that error on two occasions now review edit histories to ensure the tag hasn't already been applied). In any case, I left a note on the talk page of Rmhermen, the original prodder, to the effect that he may want to list the article for deletion, so likely the page will be taken care of in any case. Cordially, Joe 05:20, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

I assumed it was a video game summary, but the article doesn't seem to say. In any case, you're certainly correct about non-notability; a Google search found only 74 hits, and, consequently, I've voted "delete" at the AfD. Have a nice day! Joe 05:29, 29 March 2006 (UTC)`

B - I couldn't dig up a reference for you on the edit I made to your hip hop page. It's a great page, but the purpose of the edits was to properly frame the early participants. Given the nature of the work, it's not enough to say that I was there - but the founders of hip hop would only be called "inner-city" African Americans by someone from outside of that group. As such, posting Bambaataa's statement and keeping that language is to miss the point entirely. The founders were part of a Black (US and Caribbean) and Latino (Afro/Indio/Euro Puerto Rican) collective in places like the Bronx and Harlem. Their US and Caribbean origins were a seminal part of the formation of the music. Bambaataa's statement does not say anything to contradict this. Jamaican transplants like Kool Herc and KRS-One must be part of this mix as well. I don't know if I have the time to look up a reference - but if that really matters to you - you should delve deeper because it will be impossible to find someone who was there who would suggest the roots of hip hop are not a mixture of these various African cultural elements. As for "inner city" - it's a sloppy euphemism that should be phased out as soon as possible. Moreover, additional research will reveal that many of hip hops legends (and many founders) did not reside in the so-called "inner city." Russell Simmons?

AFD help

I've tried adding a few articles to the AFD page, but I don't think I'm doing it right. All that shows up is a red link on the page, that I can't remove. Can you offer any help? --cholmes75 19:35, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

  • I tried to follow the steps on that, but got it messed up somehow. I guess I'll try again and attempt to be more careful. --cholmes75 21:05, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
    • Not a problem. If you find an inappropriate tag feel free to remove. I'm going through the list of orphaned articles and finding a lot that probably don't need to exist. --cholmes75 21:57, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the explanation about the prod, I was unaware of that. What is to be done if a user removes the deletion tags then? Put it up for AfD? Thanks. IronChris | (talk) 04:32, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick response Bikeable. Is the sandbox really a development/ staging site? I'll look - but Zoe was pretty quick off the mark, and didn't provide much of an explanation. How do you guys get to be administrators? I don't understand wiki very thoroughly yet - though I do link a lot of our oinline media article to explanations on wiki becuae I find it pretty objective, through and up to date (The Mohammed Cartoons crisis thing was an excellent and very prompt article that I linked our ABC report sites to for example). Njamesdebien 04:47, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks again for prompt response Bikeable. I'll follow up on your suggestions. The wiki thing continues to unfold. I love the "Recent changes patrol" . I can imagine what happens - but I'll have a look. When you say you took down the "delete" tag but your an editor not an admin - does that mean I could exercise the same supreme power too!!!?

TimeSplitters 2 Characters

Hi , a while back you gave me some advice about what to do if i think an article should be deleted. I found an article concerning characters of a game which has been copied directly from the game iteself. The descriptions are simply those which have been given to the characters by the designers. What sort of tag should i label this article with , sorry but im totally confused. (Neostinker 11:16, 1 July 2006 (UTC))

Holy Roman Empire by Viscount James Bryce Bryce

If you could look up some stuff and put this thing to rest that would be great. The main question is: does the book in fact list any 21st-century family members named Karl-Philipp V (supposedly a current prince), and a presumptive heir named Stefan? Does the book actually mention anything present-day at all, or is it just a book about the empire, which is, let's face it, gone for centuries? Everything I find says the only current prince is Karel Jan (Karel VII) Schwarzenberg, Czech senator and former chancellor. Fan-1967 13:44, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Explicit vs. Implicit

Perhaps many do not uderstand the methodology around these "google" type searches Ms. Oreskes did in the ISI database. I have also tried to duplicate her work using the same search parameters. This study also shows how these work [4]. When I do, I typically find many articles that use the terms "climate change" that are not explicit scientific studies of attribution of human CO2 to climate change. They many times are based on biological studies of organisms adapting to "climate change", and the authors many times mention human causes as a given, but the paper's research is not about that and does not explicitly show attribution. I also suspect Ms. Oreskes is quite biased on this issue and was not an objective researcher who found what she wanted, thus not the scientific method nor following scientific principles of research. Thus I believe it significant that she has left out what % was explicit research aimed at proving or supporting attribution, or disproving explicitly natural variations or other possible causes of global warming. Perhaps this is too picky, but I value science and the scientific method highly, and her study lacks rigor and documentation and if I had peer reviewed it it would have been rejected. Thanks, I know I am in a minority but skeptics are also the heart of science and progress, and it is easy to get into groupthink and ignore us, but do so at the peril of destroying scientific debate and research. Oops, forgot to sign it.

I am certainly glad to hear you say that the Oreskes article cannot verify that consensus exists on the AGW issue, ever since I answered the original AGU and AMS surveys in the mid 1990s, and got the responses that the majority did not line up in favor of AGW, I have suspected political biases at work lately to try and prove something that I cannot see from my interactions with paleo-climatologists and geologists. However, from reading the Wiki page on scientofoc consensus, most people come away thinking that she proved it and it exists, that is intellectually dishonest, but I guess I can't change that since so many object. Michael Loomis

Hi there - I noticed that you've re-added the db-bio tag to the Michael Loomis new article - I had added the tag, but removed it after I re-checked the notability guidelines - the article affirms that he's a baseball catcher for a US university, and according to our notability guidelines those who play at US college level sports are notable enough for articles. Whilst it clearly needs cleaning up and rewriting - well, you've been around here a lot longer than me, from your contribs, so I just thought I'd check why you re-added the tag (no, I don't think he's a major person or anything, I'm just purely going by the guidelines, still feeling my way through deletion stuff). --Mnemeson 15:35, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply - if we brought it back, I think it would have to go straight to afD, so no need to recreate it just for the sake of it. I was probably just being a little too kind to the outer limits of the letter of the bio sports guideline ;-) --Mnemeson 10:26, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

First, to be perfectly honest, I've never thought patrolling new changes to speedily delete things was the most practical use of my time on Wikipedia, nor anyone else's. Aviation Smog

Dear Bikeable, could you please tell me why you decided to remove my contribution about 'Aviation Smog' (a new term for Contrails) to the entry about Smog?

It is not uncommon and certainly not unacceptable to coin e new term for a new phenomenon, especially not if this might help to make people aware of the newness of this phenomenon. The term Smog also was a term that was newly coined for this reason:

The term "smog" was first coined by Dr. Henry Antoine Des Voeux in his 1905 paper, “Fog and Smoke,” for a meeting of the Public Health Congress. The 26 July 1905 edition of the London newspaper Daily Graphic quoted Des Voeux, “[H]e said it required no science to see that there was something produced in great cities which was not found in the country, and that was smoky fog, or what was known as ‘smog.’” The following day the newspaper stated that “Dr. Des Voeux did a public service in coining a new word for the London fog.” (Source: Smog)

If you are unfamiliar with the terms Contrails and Aviation Cirrus, please have a look at my website with pictures of 'Aviationsmog' since 1995: Contrails Kind regards, Robert C. = I also need your help!

Bikeable, you have been very helpful reviewing and editing the article about Rodolfo Valentin – Can you please help me to assess the biography and how to nominate it? (I don’t know how to do either). Also I noticed that you mentioned in the discussion page, that the part of the article about “The Hair Infusion”, still needs work…the original was in a separate article named “Hair Infusion”, but the administrator linked it together… If you can also help me with that I will greatly appreciate it! To improve “the Hair Infusion” part, please visit the website page that has more information about it, and probably you can use it to make it better! The website page address is:

http://mysite.verizon.net/vzeqnuds/id22.html

Also, if people wants to have more information about the hair infusion, the hair infusion website external link has been removed!. I am not sure where to list the hair infusion website, if it is supposed to be between all the other external links or at the end of the “hair infusion” part itself? The hair infusion website is: http://hairinfusion.com

the problem, "Justice" is the Valentin article is about 90% advertising, and contains untrue and unsourced statements. that is why Bikeable edited down. It also contains photos from an uploader who has had many photos removed for copyright violations. Walker42 16:42, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
The editor above stating that Rodolfo article contains untrue and unsourced statements, for most of what I can see has contribuited very little to WP, and most of the articles edited are about Rodolfo Valentin and all the other articles related to Rodolfo, as Sofia's hair for health, the London, Uk/ Sunday Times article: Hellena Frith Powell (also deleted!)(perplexed).

Editors can currently see that all and each of the statements have been sourced, with a long list added for verification of each statement. Pampita 23:51, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

YOUR HELP AGAIN IS NEEDED

Again, your help is very much appreciated. I just am trying to do thinDear; You have previously helped me with RODOLFO VALENTIN article. But, since you fixed the article several other people came and deleted most of the file, always with the same “excuse” ADVERTISEMENT. I need your help to prevent people from delete chunks of the file that are “no convenience for them”. What I mean with that is because Rodolfo Valentin is a famous hairdresser in New York City and most of the other hairdressers are jealous of his career. I am sure the deletions are mostly coming from these competitors, because in the article are named very important people that are his clientele that most of the other hairdressers would like to have. Also, you have added back “hair infusion” part that previously other administrator linked together in his article (it was in a separate article before). The Hair Infusion is a trademarked hair extensions technique created by Rodolfo Valentin from which ALSO the other Salons are jealous since they cannot do it, and it also has been removed completely from the same person that removed everything else using the name: WALKER42, which statement about my article is noted above. I understand that it can be edited, but please help me to keep the file integrity! Also Walker42 is accusing of loanding photos, which I did myself, and they are photos that I did myself. Do you need a written statement from Rodolfo, Mrs.Catsimatidis and Ms.Milos? ( I can mail you one!) Thank you! Justice all the way

BIKEABLE I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP!

My article about Rodolfo Valentin has been nice and quite for a long time. Lately everybody is changing, deleting, and also many menacing me! You helped me before, and now I need your help more than ever, specially that I don't have a lot of knowledge about wikipedia ( I am trying my best). You have very nicely edited it before, but since then hundreds of people change it all around.

A big pieces of Rodolfo Valentin article has been removed without reason. That piece was showing the names of important people related to Rodolfo that also are having an article in WP.( it has been done twice by WALKER42). There also was a picture of Mrs.Catsimatidis and Ms.Milos ( a picture that I took myself with my camera). Previously they also removed another picture of Rodolfo with the princess yasmin aga Khan (rita hayword doughter), also a picture that I took myself. Next: the hair infusion, an invention of Rodolfo Valentin was having an article in its own. YOu have linked it together to Rodolfo Valentin article. The hair infusion, Rodolfo's invention is very easy verifiable by visiting the US TRADEMARK OFFICE. click on Trademarks, then search trademarks and then typing THE HAIR INFUSION in the search box. It will show that it is RODOLFO VALENTIN trademark. For which reason, the hair infusion part of the article has been completely removed?- I really don't feel to touch any article anymore, can you please help me to re-establish the Hair infusion part, the picture removed and the chunk of the file containing the people related to Rodolfo?. Also, how we can protect the article from being maliciously edited?. I feel that there are a lot of hairdressers jealous from Rodolfo Valentin excelent background. Now they have added notes on the top of the article! why? Please help to re-establish this article to the nice version that was before. I have added in the discussion page of Rodolfo Valentin article to the external sources for verification of each and one of the matters. thanks

Thank you for sending me to Hell

You took away my hello to God. That wasn't very nice. I think I spend eternity in lake of fire now.

Hi!

Bikeable, this is justice and I've to thank you for your help and review about Rodolfo Valentin article. You also have contribuited a lot on it. Also the editor "Dorvaq" has been of great help and excellent disposition. With people like this WP will be a great resource. Regarding that it looks a bite like an advertisement, I've tried very hard to avoid it and keep the descriptions the simplest possible, but the references to Rodolfo involves famous people and tributes in many things he does that them make it looks like an add. I hope you continue to help the improving of that article! Also: I remember when you linked the "hair infusion" from its own article and linked together in Rodolfo's article. But then another editor of name Walker42 showed up in WP and completely removed that from his article and changed all good references around. I am convinced it was a Rodolfo's competitor because that editor only showed up in WP between Apr15-Apr 18 and only touched Rodolfo's article and the other related to his charity Sofia's Hair 4 Health, to never return again. Take an look and investigate a little bit and probably you will agree with me. Thank you again!, best regards justice all the way 15:09, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

I have added a "prod" template to the article Loudness war, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.Jrod2 04:25, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. Indeed it needs major clean up. I also Googled this "Loudness War" and none of the resulting supporting links pre-date the article itself. That's not acceptable, don't you think? The fact that Wikipedia itself has raised the "Loudness War" article's notability on the web, should be enough grounds for deletion, or at least a major "overhaul". Thanks for your attention.Jrod2 05:56, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Per your request, we are keeping the "Loudness War" page. Major clean up has already been initiated. Thanks for the support. Jrod2 02:06, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

"When A Crocodile Eats The Sun", by Peter Godwin describes many of the pleasures the elite enjoy on page 298-292 from the eviction of farmers and abuse of the population. If Wikipedia policy is to retain only the official information that Zimbabwe tells the outside world, then please keep the undo. Otherwise the other viewpoints should be considered as well. I'm not here to make trouble, simply trying to help this resource that I so often use doing research projects- I am slightly disappointed by the lack of the Zimbabwe crisis awareness, even though Wikipedia is not a propaganda resource, it is a humanitarian oriented project. The crisis "veiwpoint" is represented in the article but not in the summary- where people get an at glance vantage point.

Category:Health risks up for deletion

Hello! I saw your notes over at Talk:Public health, and you are just the sort of person who needs to contribute to the discussion regarding the possible deletion of Category:Health risks that's taking place at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2007_August_1#Category:Health_risks. The WP:CFD opened on August 1, which means it will probably close in the next day (I will request that it be kept open... ) -- so if you want to participate in this very important discussion, time is of the essence. If you know of anyone else who could contribute to the discussion, please pass this on. Regards, Cgingold 01:27, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Atheism and Buddhism

I made a new suggestion to replace the sentence in the intro to Atheism. Please have a look at the Atheism talkpage. Greetings, Sacca 11:49, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for the comments at this AfD. I also found evidence that it makes a verifably false statement of fact. Bearian 22:16, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Notability and blah blah

I never said "ladies" was a "clever" insult. Most everyone here is genderless to me because of their names, therefore, I went the route of equal opportunity and assumed everyone was a woman.

I'll stop with what you are calling "insults", but only because you asked some kindly. Herbert Arthur 19:00, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

P.S. - I think what bothers me the most about this entire thing is that it never would've happened had I not drawn attention to the page, myself, due to a goofy hyperlink/url that was causing me to not be able to edit something. That's what's really too bad. Otherwise...none of you would've even given it a second thought. That'll teach me....Herbert Arthur 19:05, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Zimbabwe

There is a page for Art of Zimbabwe. The link did not work because the anon used a comma rather than a "|." Thanks for keeping an eye on the page though. Perspicacite 07:51, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

can you direct me?

The following message was posted on the TrouserPress.com website which i run and I have no idea how to address it. But you were very nice to me last year when we were briefly in touch, so i am hoping you can give me a suggestion of where to go with it, since obviously it would be good to have a more positive linking relationship with Wikipedia. Thanks!

"I think it's quite important for the TP website to increase it's visibility at Wikipedia. This is the web's #1 link pool for album reviews and very few have links to their relevant TP pages while other music sites are clearly represented. The way to deal with that is to make a quick edit each time you visit a wikipedia site for an album, adding the relevant TP link.

Problem:: I received a kickback message from wikipedia claiming that TP was a "spam site" and that linking to a TP review was vandalism (TP is actually the cleanest of all music review sites linked through WP). TP is not, however, listed as spam on the relevant WP page, so somebody from another music site may be battling my edits. Either I have been banned or somebody wanted to give TP a black eye. Either way, make sure you add a link each time you visit a WP page and it will be a big boost for traffic to TP. This is the way to turn on a new generation to the terrific resource that is TP."

AfD nomination of Alex Wetten

An editor has nominated Alex Wetten, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alex Wetten and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:14, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of James F. Phillips

I have nominated James F. Phillips, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/James F. Phillips. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Over the last few weeks I've found & corrected 2 redirected links. They should have gone to but had been diverted to . I haven't had a reply to my query to the creator of 1 page (in the categorical index) as to whether he copied it from elsewhere. As you seem to be more familiar with WP procedures than I am, perhaps you'll know whether this is the sort of thing that should be reported to the administrators. Peter jackson (talk) 12:00, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

I see that the system seems to have an automatic procedure for transferring mentions of categories to the bottom of the page. Perhaps I shouldn't link them. Peter jackson (talk) 18:36, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Bikeable! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 371 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the article:
