Just how cute are these little owls!........A friend had something similar ( she wouldn't let me take it to pieces so I had to guess how they were made)....and if I knew where the original design came from then I would give them the credit!
This is how I made mine..
These pictures are quite self explanitory.....
The only thing when stitching is to make sure the point where the stiches meet is neat.. this folds over to form his nose.
Place a pin accross and stuff firmly
Fold over and hold with a few stitches..
Cut some felt circles and add sequins and beads for eyes
Stich on his bottom!.... cute! You can change the size and shape by making the 'cone' shorter, longer, wider or narrower... experiment!.. if you make one leave a link so I can come and see!

Adorable! I love the little fat on in the foreground and I hope you gave them some sort of anaesthetic (or at least a stiff G&T) before stitching their bottoms!
Brilliant!!! I just bought one the other week which is almost the same and it has a jump ring on the bottom with a couple of bells hanging of it for his feet...these knock the spots off mine though.. loving those colours x

These are so cute. You are so talented to figure out the design yourself. Imagine, your friend not allowing you to take it apart. How silly of her--LOL.

There are a few variations on this idea out there. I think the source for the general idea is a traditional Japanese toy. I make similar owls from recycled wool.
Clear instructions!

Gorgeous! My grandchildren are making gifts for their siblings this year for Christmas, they are ten, six, five and four. The three youngest are girls and the oldest is a boy who absolutely loves animals of any kind! This will be perfect for one of the girls to make for him! Can't wait to get them started on this! Thanks for sharing the instructions with the rest of us! :)
Absolutely fabulous. Thank you for writing the pattern which I found on Pinterest. I had so much fun making them for my grand daughter using fabric left over from making bunting to match her bedroom. I don't think they will be the last owls I make - I can see the family orders coming in.
