Weak oppose This is going to be a harsh vote because I see what you were thinking here. The light is beautiful and it's a motif that definitely has potential for FP. But I miss an outstanding composition. It feels like the playground items are arranged a little chaotically in the frame, all overlapping one another and with the swing in the background awkwardly cropped, and I don't get a strong compositional idea. All in all, although the light rays are beautiful and nearly made me support, I don't find enough in this picture besides them to vote for it. Cmao20 (talk) 01:24, 1 March 2025 (UTC)

Info Commerson's frogfish or giant frogfish (Antennarius commerson), Zanzibar, Tanzania. It lives in the tropical and subtropical waters from the Indian Ocean to the eastern coasts of the Pacific Ocean. It can grow to a lengh of up to 38 centimetres (15 in) (like the one on the picture) and its large mouth is prognathous, allowing it to consume prey as large as itself. Its coloration is extremely variable, which they can change in a few weeks as they tend to match their environments. As all frogfishes, A. hispidus is a voracious carnivore which attacks any small animals that pass within range, mainly other fish, but sometimes even congeners. The first dorsal spine, the illicium, is modified for use as a fishing rod. Its extremity is endowed with a characteristic esca (lure), which resembles a small fish or shrimp with a pinkish to brownish coloration. Note: we have no FPs of frogfishes (family Antennariidae), and in fact, only 2 FPs of the whole order Lophiiformes (Anglerfishes). I haven't seen indeed many frogfishes in my life, one in the Philippines and one in Zanzibar. c/u/n by Poco a poco (talk) 14:04, 28 February 2025 (UTC)

File:Coat of arms of Trinidad and Tobago.svg (delist and replace)
[edit]Voting period ends on 7 Mar 2025 at 15:57:22
Info Reason to reassess: Substantial portions of the image redrawn/revectorised. Proposed to replace with File:Coat of arms of Trinidad and Tobago (1962–2025).svg which now hosts the original nominated file. (Original nomination)
Delist and replace -- HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 15:57, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Comment If I understand what happened, you substituted the file which was featured with a new version, since the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago introduced a new coat od arms recently. I don't know if this is the correct procedure. Maybe you should have moved the original file to the new name to mantain its history, and then upload the new version. I think we have to wait for the intervention of a mover or that of a sysop. --Harlock81 (talk) 19:41, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Comment AFAICS Harlock81 is right – we do not need a delist-and-replace nomination, but a disentangling of the versions –, but I hope other people, espec. admins, can shed more light on the best way to deal with this. – Aristeas (talk) 20:05, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
Agree - The file should be moved then global-replaced, not overwritten (with the original uploader's name subsituted) just to avoid the replacement procedure - especially when the picture is a featured one. – Kontributor 2K (talk) 15:27, 1 march 2025 (UTC)
Comment As it stands my initial upload was deleted, and my image added under the existing file of the previous coat of arms, so I'm unable to make the fixes to my file as needed. As it relates to the actual topic of discussion, i thought the file name of the previous arms would just have been changed first then the name of the new arms changed in line after that.--BaronJaguar (talk) 18:56, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

Support Nice composition and quality is okay. And nice to see the swastika being used for its original religious meaning, not the perverted fascist meaning. Cmao20 (talk) 01:59, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- It is extremely common to see Swastikas used for their original religious purpose in India (and Asia in general, I suppose). UnpetitproleX (Talk) 06:28, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- I've never been to India. The only time I've seen a swastika 'in the wild' is in a Jain shrine that I visited as part of a school project, maybe 12 years ago. I remember that many of my classmates were a little taken aback, but the Jains we encountered were very proud of their symbol and explained that it represented devotion and holiness. I found that very touching. Cmao20 (talk) 07:19, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

Info A new house was built in the neighborhood and the contractor brought in the big toys. A good thing out here in the backwoods is that such sites are not sealed off so I could get close for some photos. The drill and digger looked like two big battling monsters as they were working on flattening the cliff into a level base for the house. All by me, -- Cart (talk) 11:54, 23 February 2025 (UTC)

Comment Like Екатерина Борисова and A.Savin, I see nothing special in this picture, but in my view it's also a cluttered composition. The house behind the engines, and one engine behind the other, a black car hidden behind a big rock, a blue vehicle at the right... Moreover, these two machines seem more busy each with their own task, close to the ground, than "fighting" in the situation. Sorry -- Basile Morin (talk) 01:40, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Oppose The big amont of rocks at the foreground doesn't work for me. I don't see the WOW factor here. --Sebring12Hrs (talk) 07:48, 25 February 2025 (UTC)

- Thank you for your feedback. IMHO there is no way to get everything sharp for this kind of shot. It's a macro shot, to get this level of detail you have to get close to it and so you cannot expect that areas away from the center gets the same level of detail.
