The Lady's Lair
The Lady's Lair is a Level in Tri Force Heroes.[1] It is the fourth and final Level of the Fortress Area, and is preceded by Training Ground.
The Lady's Lair is located at the very top of the Fortress that the Links infiltrate. As with the rest of the Fortress, it is heavily guarded by Soldiers and obstacles. As its name suggests, it is the lair of Lady Maud and is where the Links first encounter her.
In Stage 1, the Links appear in a room with a Boomerang, Gust Jar and Gripshot. Up the stairs ahead is a puzzle mechanism which the Links must solve in order to cross a bottomless pit and enter the lair. On the left and right sides of the pit are a pair of elevated Shock Switches with guards that block the Links' Items, while under each Shock Switch is a chute from which large, iron Balls continually roll down toward them. One Link stands in the center on a Floor Switch at the edge of the floor which removes the Switches' guards, and uses his Item to strike a third Shock Switch across the pit, which alternately raises and lowers a set of diamond-shaped Elevator Blocks on the floor. While avoiding the rolling Balls, the other two Links must form a Totem and stand on the lowered Elevator Block, have the center Link hit the Switch to raise it, then use their own Items to hit one of the elevated Shock Switches. Then, they must quickly move to the other side, raise that Elevator Block and hit the other Shock Switch before a timer runs out and they are deactivated. Hitting both Shock Switches lowers a stairway that leads to the Triforce Gateway.
In Stage 2, the Links appear on a platform suspended with chains from the ceiling, which seems to be rising rapidly. Ahead of them are three hanging gazebo-like structures which rotate in a Ferris wheel fashion, carrying a Bomb Soldier and two Spear Soldiers. To the sides are some suspended Bomb Flowers, which can be retrieved with the Boomerang or the Gripshot. These Enemies can be fought by throwing the Bomb Flowers or by catching and returning the Bomb Soldier's Bombs; however, the Spear Soldiers have awnings above them that will deflect most thrown Bombs, necessitating the Gust Jar to fire them directly forward. Alternatively, the Links could wear Outfits that allow them to fire Sword Beams or deal damage with the Boomerang or Gripshot. Once they are defeated, the floor opens up to reveal a Big Switch which acts as an elevator when all three Links stand on it, taking them to a room with the Triforce Gateway and a Treasure Chest containing three Hearts.
In Stage 3, the Links appear on a walkway outside of the Fortress, which spirals around it and must be climbed to the very top. More Spear Soldiers are encountered along the way, followed by a Squiddy and the first of three long staircases. The Links eventually reach a tightrope with Crows flocking around it. A Cracked Block sits in the path of the tightrope and must be destroyed by grabbing a nearby Bomb Flower suspended in mid-air. This requires that the Links carefully form a Totem on the tightrope and turn to reach the Bomb with an Item, then turn again to throw it. The Block reveals a Floor Switch underneath, which pressing activates a moving platform to the next staircase. Before climbing it, the Links can throw each other up a small ledge to reach a Treasure Chest containing a Purple Rupee. At the top of the staircase, the Links make their way to a bridge where they fight a group of Hardhat Beetles and a Blue Sword Soldier. Defeating them opens the gate to the next staircase, which the Links climb to face a pair of Hinoxes and a Gold Ball and Chain Soldier. Defeating them makes the Triforce Gateway appear.
Stage 4 is where the Links encounter Lady Maud inside her parlor and fight her three "Pets" on an octagonal floor. On the east and west sides, beyond a gap, are ledges containing Bomb Flowers that can be retrieved with the Links' Items, and along the northeast and northwest sides are ledges with Hearts.
Drablands Challenges
Once The Lady's Pets have been defeated, The Lady's Lair can be replayed with the following Drablands Challenges: "Evade the Wallmaster!", "Fewer Heart Containers!", and "Only Bombs—no swords!".
In "Only Bombs—no swords!", the Links can solve the puzzle in Stage 1 by coordinating their Bombs several seconds apart, reducing the time wasted in between each throw; or, with precise timing, they can hit both Shock Switches without using the Elevator Blocks. In Stage 2, the awnings above the Spear Soldiers are removed.
Materials
At the end of the Level, three Treasure Chests can be opened. Two contain the same Material, and one contains another, more valuable Material.

Trivia
- As described in Vol. 4 of the Drablands Diary, a scarab is hidden on a wall in each Level of the Fortress. One can be found in Stage 3 of The Lady's Lair, on the left post of the gate that opens after defeating the Blue Sword Soldier and Hardhat Beetles.
