Hearty Truffles can be found below Trees in the Great Hyrule Forest and Hyrule Field. They can be purchased from establishments such as the Spore Store and the East Wind or from the Wandering Merchant Cambo. They can be eaten to restore two Hearts. When Cooked in a Cooking Pot, the resulting food will grant Link Extra Hearts.[1] Hearty Truffles that are exposed to Fire turn into Toasted Hearty Truffles. At the Kochi Dye Shop, they can be used as an ingredient to create Black Dye.
Hearty Truffles, among other Mushrooms, can be used in a Cooking Pot to make the following Meals:

Properties Cooking Effects |
Hearty Truffles can now be found exclusively in clumps of dirt in Caves and Wells instead of on the Surface, and they are significantly more valuable due to their newfound rarity.[4][5] When eaten, they restore two of Link's Hearts to his Life Gauge, whereas when Cooked into Meals, they restore all of his Hearts and temporarily grant him Extra Hearts.[2] Due to their black coloration, they are difficult to spot in the dark environments they are found in.[6] When exposed to Fires or Scorching Climates, they become Toasted Hearty Truffles. At the Kochi Dye Shop, they can be used to make Black Hateno Dyes.
When Fused to Weapons, Hearty Truffles impart Bouncy properties onto them, causing the Weapons to launch struck Enemies back slightly. Shields with Truffles Fused to them cause Enemies who are Parried to stumble slightly.
