Overview

The "Birth of the Demon King" Memory can be viewed by finding the Dragon's Tear hidden within the Geoglyph on the North Tabantha Snowfield. As part of the Main Quest "The Dragon's Tears", Link must find and witness this Memory.[2]

Following Ganondorf's ambush of Sonia during "Sonia Is Caught by Treachery", Zelda can be seen attempting to wake her.[3] Ganondorf holds up the Secret Stone he took from Sonia,[4] which loses the yellow glow signifying its Time power and turns black. The Stone grows in size and a new inscription appears upon it, at which point it embeds itself on his forehead. Gloom surrounds Ganondorf as his power increases,[5] causing Zelda to hold onto Sonia in fear.

As a Blood Moon rises, Ganondorf transforms into Demon King Ganondorf. Shooting a pillar of Gloom into the air, he summons hoards of Monsters throughout Hyrule. Rauru runs onto the balcony, where he notices Sonia's condition and rushes to her side.[6] Demon King Ganondorf taunts Rauru, claiming that he wasted the potential of their Secret Stones.[7] He also refers to Sonia as the first victim of Rauru's arrogance, and he threatens to kill Rauru for trying to control him.[8]

In anger, Rauru starts to rush toward Demon King Ganondorf, but he is stopped by Zelda saying that Sonia needs him.[9] Demon King Ganondorf shoots a burst of Gloom towards them, which Rauru blocks with his Light. Using the Purah Pad, Zelda is able to Warp herself, Rauru, and Sonia away. Although he is momentarily stunned, Demon King Ganondorf begins to laugh once again, and the Memory ends.
