Irma

Irma (Japanese: イチカ, Ichika), also known as I (Japanese: アイ, Ai), is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Overview[]

Irma is the Consul I. Her Moebius ability is to create and control illusions, such as disguising Colony Mu's Flame Clock and weaponizing False Volffs.

Story[]

Following Colony 4's liberation and K's death by Ouroboros, Irma reported to the Queen of Keves and the Queen of Agnus, who then gave the order to all the colonies to destroy Ouroboros. She is also shown in one of Monica's flashbacks of a Lost Numbers execution on Hope's Rest.

Consul I was appointed to oversee Colony Mu, and devised a plan to make its soldiers grow closer shared adversity; her logic was that the wish to protect their friends would push them to grow stronger and consequently strengthen their life force and so used her role as a Consul of both Agnus and Keves to organize raids that would pose just enough of a threat to the Colony to unify them but not enough to put them at risk of destruction. When Fiona begged her to change the way the Colony fought following the death of their previous commander, she appointed Fiona as the new commander. She then used her power to create illusions to take on the false identity of "Irma", who became Fiona's lieutenant and close friend.

However, despite her role as a Consul, there was some good in her. She came to admire Fiona's selfless dedication and the way that the rest of Colony Mu came to support her and even began to aid in it herself, possibly as a form of atonement. When Lanz and his allies reveal her manipulation, she confesses her actions and shoots Fiona in the back when she sees that Fiona is unwilling to fight her, only to remind Fiona that she promised to do her best for everyone and that she was responsible for killing her friends, prompting Fiona and the party to fight her. Though she started the fight, it is implied that she prompted the party to fight her not out of bloodlust, but instead out of regret and a wish to finally die for her actions. Noah and the party defeat her in the ensuing battle, and as she lays dying, Irma asks Fiona not to weep for her and admits that despite her deceptions her friendship with Fiona was genuine.

Fiona's Ascension Quest A Farewell Reset reveals that Irma kept a box full of objects from her time together with Fiona locked away in her secret hideaway and asked Googoo to bury the key to it; it is heavily implied that she was overwhelmed by the guilt of deceiving Fiona and wished to die as a form of atonement for her actions.

During the quest Treasured Memory, it is revealed that she was also good friends with Triton in the past. Though they did not know each other very well, Triton felt that it would not be right to see her as just an acquaintance.

Moebius I (Japanese: メビウス・アイ, Mebiusu Ai) is a Quest Exclusive Boss who is a Moebius fought at level 47 alongside 3 False Volffs in Colony Mu in Erythia Sea during Transparent Dreams.

Trivia[]

• ※Irma's eye color is different when in her Consul outfit. She normally has yellow eyes, but they are blue when she is wearing her Consul clothes. This is true both in game, and in concept art.
• The Moebius I model is shared with Moebius P.
• During the final battle against Z, he summons many false Consuls resembling I's outfit in the Amphitheater.
