Knockback is a reaction in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Torna ~ The Golden Country. An attack that inflicts knockback causes its target to be physically pushed away from the attacker, interrupting their current action and preventing them from acting for approximately a second. Knockback can knock its target off an edge if there is no barrier in the way, and is therefore dangerous around cliffs and thin walkways. It is essentially a weaker form of blowdown.

There are six levels of knockback, which impact targets differently based on their sturdiness against reactions. The relative power of each knockback level is as follows (in unclear internal units).

Knockback cannot be inflicted on targets suffering from Topple, Launch, or Smash. Enemies with the "Immovable" property are immune to knockback. Finishing a Blade Combo with the Wind element (enacting Seal Blowdown) does not prevent Knockback from being inflicted upon the party.

Knockback, like the other reactions, is not guaranteed to be inflicted. The chance of a Knockback occurring is given by the reaction infliction formula.
