Congratulations to this, and new GAs, and today especially for You Belong with Me, "about a song by Taylor Swift, an American musical artist. Those who have heard this song might remember it via the infamous mic grab in 2009. That incident aside, this song is a pretty good pop hit that was everywhere in 2009 but was denounced by feminists."! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:18, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Happy Holidays :)

[edit]

Hey, Ippantekina. Hope you're enjoying the day so far :) I have a quick question regarding Christmas Tree Farm, do you think that the first paragraph of the background section here should be removed completely? I believe some of it can be removed but SNUGGUMS removed it completely and I wanted to know your thoughts about this as an uninvolved editor, and if you have any thoughts on how to improve this section and the article in general. You can comment at the peer review if you'd like.

Also many congratulations on the "Fearless" promotion :) Keep up the hard work! Medxvo (talk) 08:30, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Medxvo, thanks for the message. I hope you're having a warm and cozy holiday season too :) Re. "Christmas Tree Farm", I think a sentence or two about Swift's upbringing on a Christmas tree farm doesn't do any harm. Removing it entirely is quite too much, but that's my 2 cents ofc.. Ippantekina (talk) 04:14, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll try to adjust the section as mush as possible. Thank you so much, Ippantekina. I greatly appreciate your help :)) Medxvo (talk) 06:46, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Red (Taylor's Version) GTOP

[edit]

Hi, Ippantekina. Happy New Year's Eve! I was wondering about the status of the Red (Taylor's Version) GTOP. I think you added All Too Well (10 Minute Version) which is a redirect and the rest of the articles are GAs. What now? Medxvo (talk) 09:14, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Medxvo: I think "All Too Well" should be part of the Red (TV) GT. Despite the 10 minute version being a section of the article, I can't deny that All Too Well is a significant addition to the topic. Of course you can nominate Red TV for GT to see if there are any arguments, but this is my stance and it might be mine only.. Ippantekina (talk) 15:17, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for But Daddy I Love Him

[edit]

On 8 January 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article But Daddy I Love Him, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. Album classification

[edit]

Hi, regarding the Taylor Swift albums I made edits to, you reverted them? And I'm just wondering why? Thanks. Jorge906 (talk) 10:05, 12 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Those edits were not constructive hence I reverted them. Ippantekina (talk) 16:28, 12 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I thought they were beneficial. What's wrong with "It was initially released on October 24, 2006 by Big Machine Records, and reissued multiple times in 2007–2008." instead of "Under Big Machine Records' imprint, it was initially released on October 24, 2006, and reissued multiple times in 2007–2008." Jorge906 (talk) 17:27, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Jorge906: Your wording reads like the album was released by Big Machine in 2006 only and not the reissues in 2007/08. Ippantekina (talk) 05:19, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
so if that's so, why can't it be worded as "It was initially released on October 24, 2006 and reissued multiple times in 2007–2008 by Big Machine Records." Jorge906 (talk) 13:17, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Could be, but I don't see the major difference between the 2 choices anyway. Ippantekina (talk) 14:44, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's only because in the lead section of Taylor Swift's albums, most of them say after the first sentence, "It was released on [release date] by [releaser]." Jorge906 (talk) 17:12, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, regarding the edits I made to Swift's albums, there seems to be a dispute between ", released on..." Instead of "It was released". I made these edits with good faith intents, so can you just tell me the problem with it? I just want to sort this out Jorge906 (talk) 19:47, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If this is such a problem, perhaps all of swifts albums should be worded as ", released on" Jorge906 (talk) 19:50, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Jorge906: all of those articles had the same wording as before, so that should not be a problem to begin with. I assume your edits on good faith but I don't see particular improvements, and they actually make the flow staccato, at least to my reading. My mantra is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Ippantekina (talk) 01:36, 6 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I did make those edits, and, the reading was fine before. Jorge906 (talk) 08:49, 6 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

"Christmas Tree Farm" FAC

[edit]

Hi, Ippantekina, just wanted to see if you'd be interested in reviewing an FAC for an article that you had reviewed its GAN back in 2021 :) I believe your helpful insights would improve the article. Hope you're having a good day! Medxvo (talk) 14:05, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey yes, I'm happy to review the FAC. Even though I gotta admit, I haven't listened to this song in full... Ippantekina (talk) 04:30, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much. It's a super cute and cheerful song, you should listen to it in full some day :)) Medxvo (talk) 09:36, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You made Delicate too short

[edit]

You made the sample for Delicate too short. Why? 22 seconds was the correct length. Anthony2106 (talk) 12:21, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Anthony2106: you can view the rationale at the FAC Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Delicate (Taylor Swift song)/archive1#Image review—pass. Ippantekina (talk) 07:33, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Well all songs are allowed 10% and less then 30 seconds per WP:SAMPLE, I didn't think it matted what you were showing Anthony2106 (talk) 13:21, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Anthony2106: even if it's 12 seconds if it's long enough to demonstrate WP:NFCC I see no problem. The fact that this issue was debated at FAC matters. Ippantekina (talk) 15:27, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
