Please recategorize University of the South Pacific as appropriate. I am not sure why you ask me to do it. If necessary, you can just create new categories according to the same pattern as others in the same hierarchy. / u◦p◦p◦l◦a◦n◦d 22:27, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC).

Why? You changed the category of USP and put it in the wrong place. Not me. Enzino.

Hi,

Saw you added Sakhalin Airlines to the page for requested articles Wikipedia:Requested articles/Applied arts and sciences/Transport. But then I see you also did a redirect for it to SAT Airlines. Did you still want another article for Sakhalin Airlines?

Kiribatian/Gilbertese

[edit]

Thank you for your insult regarding my knowledge of Kiribati. Whilst I admit I do not know much about the Islands myself, I am rather an expert on English being a native speaker and a former teacher of the language, and I can tell you that no-one would use the adjective Gilbertese to refer to the country (if you don't believe me, check the Wiktionary definition of Kiribatian and Gilbertese). Obviously you are not an expert either, as the "official" demonym is I-Kiribati, so your theory of having been to a country making you an expert doesn't exactly ring true, does it? Number 57 12:54, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No insult, please (it's my page). I am not a lier. And you do not know the exact meaning of I-Kiribati.--Enzino 15:28, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request to move article Les mamelles de Tirésias incomplete

[edit]

You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page Les mamelles de Tirésias to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.

Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:

  1. Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
  2. Added {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved, to automatically create a discussion section there.
  3. Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.

If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 17:31, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Henry Evans Maude

I have nominated Henry Evans Maude, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Henry Evans Maude. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Prikhodko controversy

[edit]

Per WP:NAME, the most common name should be given as the title of an article. While you call "Anastasiya Prikhodko" a "mistake" in transcription, let me remind you, that the original author of the mistake is the singer herself, identifying herself as "Anastasiya Prikhodko" on the her web site. So, following your example, it's as if I and most people identified myself as Erikupoek, but you would suggest an article about me called Erikupoeg being the grammatically correct name. Even when "Prikhodko" is against the rules of Ukrainian transcription, the singer may have a reason to spell her name by the Russian transcription. As you are probably aware, her stardom began in Russia and she has oriented herself not only towards the Ukrainian listeners but to a wider Russian-speaking audience (Russia, the Ukraine, Belorussia, Baltic states, South Caucasia). --Jaan Pärn (talk) 15:56, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Italy at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. <>Multi-Xfer<> (talk) 18:35, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Milan – San Remo or Milan–Sanremo

[edit]

Please don't just move the article to the option you prefer, ignoring all discussion. Whatever the correct name of the city might be, the option you used, "Milan – Sanremo", is not correct according to the Wikipedia Manual of Style. If the name of the city is Sanremo, the hyphenation should be "Milan–Sanremo". If the name of the city is San Remo, the hyphenation should be "Milan – San Remo". Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Enzino! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 11 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Ukrainian moves

[edit]

Hello Arorae.

Might I ask why you moved Gennadiy Gorbenko to Hennadiy Horbenko, and Andriy Govorov to Andriy Hovorov?

The Ukrainian spelling Андрій Говоров (in the article) translates exactly as Andriy Govorov, not Hovorov. I suspect the same goes for the Horbenko/Gorbenko guy.

HandsomeFella (talk) 22:19, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ukrainian language has no proper G (only in a very few words in fact). So the letter Γ has to be transliterated by H and not by G like in Russian or Bulgarian. That's it.--Enzino (talk) 16:56, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(pasting the conversation here, to keep it in one place)
Thanks for answering. How is Говоров pronounced? Is it pronounced like Govorov or like Hovorov?
HandsomeFella (talk) 17:41, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. Please answer here.
This letter is always pronounced like the English H, even softer. Never like g who needs a special and rare letter. You are welcome.--Enzino (talk) 18:07, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I do not agree with you. FIDAL and other Italian medias use his full name. And WP it: uses also his complete name. I do agree with you when an athlete is known with a short or a nickname, but who knows José Bemcosme de Leon outside Italy? IAAF gives his full name and IAAF is the most important source for athletics, sorry.--Enzino (talk) 22:09, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have just make a mistake moving it. The full name is José Reynaldo Bencosme de Leon of course.--Enzino (talk) 22:13, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You can't move a page without consensus

[edit]

In this discussion, it was not yet reached a consensus to move to the full name of the athlete. Please keep more attention next time. ;-) I'll wait two days than (for the moment), re-moved to José Bencosme De Leon, for the reason that I had found more sources (included IAAF and EAA), for the name without "second name Reynaldo". --Kasper2006 (talk) 12:05, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to do this again, but I've moved Nilson André back to that location. The IAAF biography is the only source I can find that uses the grave accent. All other sources I can find use either no accent, or the acute accent: his personal club profile, the Brazilian press and even the IAAF use the latter. Please verify that the IAAF biography name is the most widely used one before moving in future, or start a discussion at WikiProject Athletics if you need further opinions. Thanks. A tag has been placed on Kurt Couto requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Important Notice

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in (a) GamerGate, (b) any gender-related dispute or controversy, (c) people associated with (a) or (b), all broadly construed. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Doug Weller talk 18:37, 25 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As it says, it doesn't imply any problems with your edits. In fact since the Arbitration Committee (which I was a member of for 4 years} allowed us to, I have placed a notice on top of my talk page saying I'm aware of certain discretionary sanctions. What it does do is allow an editor to be taken to WP:AE for breaking them, or for any uninvolved Administrator to block or topic ban them. If you look at my contributions you will see that I gave one to another of the participants in the move request at Talk:LGBT rights by country or territory. Note that any editor can request a topic ban for an editor at WP:AE if they are breaking the sanctions. If you need advice on that feel free to contact me. Speedy deletion nomination of Ciprian Tudosă

[edit]

Hello Arorae,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Ciprian Tudosă for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Bonjour. Content you added to the above article appears to have been copied from http://kiribati.gov.ki/my-government/kiribati-parliament, which is not released under a compatible license. Copying text directly from a source is a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. Unfortunately, for copyright reasons, the content had to be removed. I did not see the copyright on the official governmental site Kiribati.gov.ki and I did rewrite the text in a proper way. Sorry for that. You also removed the subtitles that was not part of the copyright issue. - Arorae (talk) 21:15, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I reworded the second paragraph on Michael Bernacchi as it was copied verbatim from [http://press-files.anu.edu.au/downloads/press/n2626/pdf/ch04.pdf . It was flagged on CopyPatrol. comrade waddie96 (talk) 16:36, 26 July 2020 (UTC)][reply]

Copying within Wikipedia

[edit]

Please remember to identify the source of the material in your edit when copying within Wikipedia.

This type of edit does get picked up by Copy Patrol and a good edit summary helps to make sure we don't accidentally revert it. For future use, would you note the best practices wording as outlined at Wikipedia:Copying_within_Wikipedia? In particular, adding a link to the source and the phrase "see that page's history for attribution" helps ensure that proper attribution is preserved.

I do see that this addition was reverted and converted into a redirect so the issue may be moot but it's my observation that even experienced editors are often unaware of the copy within guideline.S Philbrick(Talk) 18:18, 27 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

it is your observation that even experienced editors are often unaware of the copy within guideline ! It was my personal case, as I have never seen it since 2004 and more than 10,000 edits… sorry 😐 for that.-Arorae (talk) 18:23, 27 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fisheries Training Centre moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Fisheries Training Centre, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of Kiribati Law

[edit]

Hello, Arorae,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username John B123, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged Kiribati Law for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. You may find our guide for writing quality articles to be extremely informative. Also, you may want to consider working on future articles in draft space first, where they cannot be deleted for lacking content.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|John B123}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Leonhardt & Blumberg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
