La Voix (born 17 April 1980) is the stage name of Christopher Dennis, a British drag performer and singer best known for competing on Britain's Got Talent and Queen of the Universe, as well as serving as a mentor on Queens for the Night and being runner-up on the sixth series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK.[2]

Early life and education

[edit]

La Voix grew up in Stockton-on-Tees[3] and attended Egglescliffe School.[4] She moved to London at 18 to attend Brunel University of London where she studied drama[5] before going on to train in musical theatre at Urdang Academy.[6]

Career

[edit]

La Voix has toured numerous venues internationally, including over 80 cruise ships, and has regularly performed in pantomimes in Aylesbury and High Wycombe. She is a former BBC Three Counties Radio presenter.[7]

Early in her career, La Voix developed her abilities working as a makeup artist painting for celebrities, models and doing prosthetics.[8][9]

In May 2015, La Voix was one of the finalists of RuPaul's Drag Race UK Ambassador. She reached the final round, where she placed as runner-up to The Vivienne.[10] In September 2023, La Voix's tour van was stolen, with equipment, costumes and wigs inside. The van was later found with nothing having been taken.[11]

In 2024, La Voix competed on the sixth series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK. She won four challenges, including the Snatch Game and the main challenge of the episode "Pop of the Tops - Live: The Rusical". She was the runner-up of the season.

Personal life

[edit]

Dennis is gay and praises his parents for being accepting of his sexuality and career.[12] He uses she/her pronouns in drag and he/him pronouns out of drag.[13]
