Quite a few of the talk pages on https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&target=MediaWiki+message+delivery&namespace=5&tagfilter=&start=2024-12-02&end=2024-12-02&limit=50 are wrong, they include "www." for some reason, so they're not attached to the correct pages. - Nikki (talk) 15:34, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! A small question regarding Flow pages after December 16: I read that "The page using Structured Discussions/Flow will then be made read-only."; will these pages remain structured as collectors of subpages named "Topic:..." or will they be eventually converted in normal pages by a bot and the pages "Topic:..." will become redirects to the sections of the normal pages? @MargaretRDonald, whatever suits you. You have two possibilities to move your page:

• using the Beta feature, as explained in the message you received, but this system has a pre-defined name for the sub-page, like /Structured Discussions Archive 1
• you ask me to move your page, using the name you want.

See https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Wikidata_talk:WikidataCon_2017/Attend&action=history and other pages: No point in putting the message there. Just delete it. Please check your edits and tag pages without any meaningful history for speedy deletion. Please don't run this script on empty pages. Also this is causing a lot of notices to go out which are quite useless and annoying, probably one of the reasons to kill this stupid extension? :-) Multichill (talk) 19:29, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that I had no way to know if a page had contents, as I used the format of the page. With Flow, I can't know if a page has contents, yet another reason to remove Flow from the wikis.

It would be much quicker for you, with your super powers of admin, to delete the useless pages you come across, much quicker for me to tag the pages concerned. Another option: wait for content conversion, when we can delete pages that are empty or contain only the pre-formatted message I've sent. Trizek (WMF) (talk) 19:56, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I deactivated the Flow beta feature, which according to mw:Help:Structured Discussions/Activation#Deactivation should have done the needful on my user talk page “ahead of time” (i.e. before December 16), but so far nothing has happened to d:User talk:Lucas Werkmeister (WMDE).
