Grube Käfersteige, Würm, Pforzheim, Regierungsbezirk Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, Deutschland
Fluorite-quartz vein deposit, hosted in bunter sandstones along the suture zone between the Moldanubian and Saxothuringian units of the Hercynian fold belt. The vein trends ENE, is either vertical or dips steeply to the north and extends over a strike length of 250-1500m. Its thickness varies from 5-30m. To the north, it is bounded by a clay gouge which is up to 15m thick.
Located between Würm and Tiefenbronn, about 7.5 km SE of Pforzheim. The mine was closed by the end of 1996 because of decreasing industrial demand for fluorite. Since spring 2005, it was being prepared to be re-opened. As of 2007 it is closed.

Geochronology
Mineralization age: Late Jurassic : 145 ± 5 MaImportant note: This table is based only on rock and mineral ages recorded on mindat.org for this locality and is not necessarily a complete representation of the geochronology, but does give an indication of possible mineralization events relevant to this locality. As more age information is added this table may expand in the future. A break in the table simply indicates a lack of data entered here, not necessarily a break in the geologic sequence. Grey background entries are from different, related, localities.
