About this image

Acorn Plains is a location introduced in New Super Mario Bros. U. It is a plains world with acorn trees, teal hills, shrubs, flowers, viridian jagged mountains reminiscent of some of the backgrounds in Super Mario World, and the Acorn Tree.

History[edit]

Super Mario series[edit]

New Super Mario Bros. U / New Super Luigi U / New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe[edit]

Acorn Plains is the first world of New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Luigi U, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. It lies south of Layer-Cake Desert, west to Sparkling Waters, Soda Jungle, and Rock-Candy Mines, and southwest of Frosted Glacier, Meringue Clouds, and Peach's Castle. This special tree is one of main sources of the game's new power-up, the Super Acorn. It can be found in the game's intro, Acorn Plains' map section and said world's first level. This world has eight levels, with 5 normal levels, a secret level, a Tower, a Castle, a Red and Green Toad House, a Piranha Plant Enemy Course, and a spot with a Balloon Baby Yoshi. The Tower boss is Boom Boom with no special abilities and the Castle boss of this world is Lemmy Koopa.

Super Mario Maker / Super Mario Maker 2[edit]

Some levels from Super Mario Run are set in Acorn Plains.

Courses with the overworld theme of the New Super Mario Bros. U style are set in Acorn Plains in Super Mario Maker and Super Mario Maker 2.

Super Mario Run[edit]

The courses Up and Over, Shell Me the Way!, Slope to Success, and Piranha Plant Field from Super Mario Run, as well as the tutorial How to Play, take place in Acorn Plains. Similarly, the above ground sections of the courses Wall-Kicking It Underground, Treasure-Hoarding Swoops, Danger High and Low, and Chase the Snaking Coins take place in Acorn Plains. Landmarks such as Acorn Trees and Slanted Rocks can be added to the Mushroom Kingdom in Kingdom Builder mode.

The underground portions of Wall-Kicking It Underground, Treasure-Hoarding Swoops, Danger High and Low, and Chase the Snaking Coins use crystals as semisolid platforms in the same way Tilted Tunnel and Crooked Tunnel from New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U do, and therefore may be underground in Acorn Plains.

Mario Golf: World Tour[edit]

Acorn Plains briefly appears in Mario Golf: World Tour as part of Nabbit's victory animation. He traverses through a modified version of Acorn Plains Way, until he reaches the top to jump high in the sky.

Super Smash Bros. series[edit]

Acorn Plains appears in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a part of the transforming stage Mushroom Kingdom U as the starting area. The Acorn Plains section of this stage features grassy platforms of different heights. Occasionally, Stretch Blocks and giant icicles appear.

Monopoly Gamer[edit]

Acorn Plains is the first property on the game board in Monopoly Gamer. It is one of two properties in the Brown Color Set (along with Yoshi's Hill).
