An indie anthology worth checking out, especially around Halloween! Drat me and my busy schedule reading this so late.
Nomania is a fast-paced début novel with imaginative world building and a fascinating back story. Always here for a novel centred on sisterhood.
Told partly in flashbacks and reflections, this is a lovely short story about magic, trust and loyalty. Definitely looking forward to more from this author!
A great short story about love, music and friendship. The relationships between the characters was very well written and the main couple were adorable. Definitely excited to read more by this author and definitely recommend!
Rowe's latest novella seamlessly blends the ancient with the modern in a great start to a new series. Can't wait to read the next one!
A lovely, well written story. The ending was perfect.
What a beautiful and emotional short story! I definitely recommend it!
If everyone's a genius, nobody's a genius.

I'm always here for more dystopian science fiction! And I'm honestly so impressed by the amount of research and effort that clearly went into this book, and the author's choice of quotes, poems and inspirations are brilliant. Well worth a read!
Dare to know. A crime so rare that it denoted a fabled punishment that few even understood.

I got to the end and now I want more. :O
Darling, I am home.

Totally reading the next one tomorrow!
I felt like I’d plucked each and every star from the sky and there was nothing left of that night but the darkness overhead.

Another lovely one by Summers!
Coming back to this one when I have the mental ability to absorb 900 pages of world-building.
Once upon a time, someone said [...] the king and queen of the Old World had created something magnificent ...

The intricate detail and world-building in this book is brilliantly done and reminds me why I need to read more epic fantasy! Onwards to book 2!
I think future generations are going to resent us. They’ll ask why they have to deal with the fallout of our decisions. Why they’re isolated in the universe because of our selfishness.

This was quite a thought-provoking short story!
Forcing my life into slow-motion, I notice a lot that I miss at game speed. The one thing I don't notice is the passage of time.

Love this one!
This is such a cool concept! And this one is particularly poignant.
This is honestly one of my favourite short stories and has stuck with me since I first read it in school.
A fantasy book about the Mozart siblings?! I AM SO HERE FOR THIS.
Ask me of life, and I’ll struggle
to pen a sentence.
Ask me of death,
And I’ll spit the alphabet without intention.

This collection of mixed poetry and prose was wonderful and reminded me why I fell in love with writing and poems to being with. Honestly, this book left me desperate to read poetry for hours, which says a lot. (I’m picky with my poetry.) King’s words are raw and real, and flow together so well. There’s also a great visual layout to the poems that changes up the rhythm of how you read it, which was a really cool effect. I don’t want to give too much away, because I think the poems unfold beautifully without spoilers, but I thoroughly recommend it.
According to the synopsis: Ray is well-to-do, worldly, yet oddly a recluse from the smart night-spots that Don longs to sample. It happens also that he is the brain behind a criminal gang.

Colour me intrigued. Also, apparently (according to a quick search of [b:Gay Novels of Britain, Ireland and the Commonwealth, 1881-1981: A Reader's Guide|22575162|Gay Novels of Britain, Ireland and the Commonwealth, 1881-1981 A Reader's Guide|Drewey Wayne Gunn|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1438303812l/22575162._SX50_.jpg|42043580], p. 139) this is by Peter de Polnay, not Adam de Hegedus, who also used the same pseudonym. Interesting.
How did one fight a wave or halt a lightning strike?

What a fabulous short story! Diana Waters doesn't disappoint with this Hallowe'en vampire tale. And I totally want a sequel now. *drums fingers impatiently*
They were not healers; this was a lesson that Taku had learned the hard way.

This was an intriguing short story about two vampires in the late 1800s in Japan. Definitely curious to check out the other books in the Demon’s Blood universe now!

3.5/5

“But love shouldn’t be suffocating or draining.”

This was a really good short story about a young couple on the verge of divorce who are forced to spend a night discussing what led them to where they are. The dialogue is so good and the chemistry between the characters was apparent from the start. They were quite likeable and I could understand both sides and their perspectives well.

My only wish was that it had been longer and we got a bit more detail. But overall very enjoyable!

Protect, Sustain, Conserve

This is a super cute kids book that's also informative. The illustrations are adorable as well. Great for teaching kids about the environment and conservation.
