This was really enjoyable! Short essays, with photos. Gives you a good picture of the city and the lives written about. Well worth reading!

This was okay. Enjoyed the premise, but I’m not a fan of ancient history. Also, even if a person could do what the main character does, I doubt they would end up in so many historic moments.

Interesting stories, good book to listen to. Only wish a man had narrated it, as the author is male. Enjoyed this!

Entertaining listen. It's as much about her friends, as it is Jackie. Good stories, an easy listen!

This was a short, but fun, review of the year 1972. I turned 15 that year, and I have many memories of that time. A good gift to give to someone born in 1972, or maybe someone that grew up in the 70's. Enjoyable!

just finished reading this. it's a good read, well written. i don't like to discuss books in reviews, i just like to say if i liked it or not.
this was a fun book to read. he has several storylines going on, but it's easy to keep track of what's going on. hope he writes some more novels! if you enjoy books by christopher moore, you'll like this!
this is such a great story! it's one that stays with you after you've put it down.
A great book! Well told story of high school in the 80's. I'm from the class of '75 myself, but much of the book brought back memories for me. A book I was sad to see end!
i'm sure he didn't write this. i quit reading it about 100 pages into it.
i love her essays/stories about her life and family! talented writter, and i look forward to her writing more books!
i had seen the movie, and thought it 'off' for a couple reasons. one, the main character was too old for some of the things he did, and two, many of the things that happened didn't make sense. bbut i stumbled upon the book on amazon, and it sounded good. glad i bought it! the idea for the movie may have come from the book, but the events that happened are totally different! i really enjoyed this book, and now plan to read a couple others by danny wallace.
Won this on Goodreads (thank you!!!). The book is slim, but nonetheless tells the story well. You can feel the loss the family went through. I lost my dad when I was 11, so I know how the death of a parent (looking at it from the child's side) can affect a small child. Your world is upside down. At least the grandparents were able to step in and become part of the household.
Small complaint, since the characters aren't fleshed out much it can be hard to follow who is who in the book. An extra 20-50 pages may have helped with this. Or even a list of who is who at the beginning.

All in all, a nice story to read.
i got a couple hundred pages into this, and it just lost steam for me.
i won this book, my first win at goodreads! the description of it lead me to belive it was more than what it is. the short quote sections were ok, but i really didnt get the longer sections, which i guess are meant to help you be a better person. i'm really not into books like that.

so i give the book a fair rating of 3 stars. and i'm thankful to have won something, and will be donating it to my library. thank you!
this was laugh out loud hilarious!! i'm hoping justin has at least another book in him. well written and it was a book i didn't want to put down.
this was a fast read! i enjoyed all the stories except the one on american idol since i hate that show. if you watch any reality shows, you'll enjoy this book of essays!
a good book of short stories! the author knows how to paint a picture with words.
this is the first book i read by her, and enjoyed it. whether you have small children or grown ones, you may like this.
well written book about a road trip from coast to coast. he tried to stay away from chains, and did a great job. i would have loved there to be more photos.
the beginning of the book was good, where she wrote about her early years. but i think she glossed over too much of the 'on the road' antics. and she doesnt even bring up any of the plastic surgery she had. the book could have been so much more.
