I read it for my Holocaust class. The main thing I'll take away from the class and this book is that everyone had a choice during the war of race and space

I read this for my Holocaust class. I think many people, me included, when they hear about the Holocaust they assume it was only Germans killing the Jews. This book examines the town Jedwabne where Polish people killed their Jewish neighbors. It opened my eyes. It amazed me how the truth was kept hidden for years.

A quick read but a must read! I'm glad I didn't read it in high school because I would not have understood the meaning of the book. Even now I had to look up some characters to see who they represented during the Russian Revolution. Orwell is a genius for writing this book. Even though the book is small, there were many moments that frustrated me. Boxer was my favorite character.

A wonderful book! There were many parts that I loved and I related to certain parts of the book. I did not like the religious content of the book and it became too much near the end. It seemed too distant from the main storyline. Some parts were slow but I'm glad I finally read this classic. I loved the character of Jane!

The cover caught my attention and I bought it without reading any reviews. The reviews are very mixed. Some people hate it while others love it. I'm glad I read it because I did enjoy it. However, when I did finish it, I found it somewhat pointless especially near the end. I thought there would be a better plot than what was delievered. The surprise incident near the end had be thinking "so what?" proving that I obviously didn't care 100% for these characters. My favorite character was Frankie.

I love Sophie Kinsella and need to realize that Madeleine Wickham is not the same person. It was ok. I never really cared about the characters and the side stories felt like Wickham just needed to fill space.

A great romance novel with an actual storyline. I loved the two main characters!

I think Peter Pan is one of those books where anyone can relate to. I was raised on the Disney version of Peter Pan and was surprised by some of the differences that existed between the book and the movie. The book is more darker, having not a happy Peter but rather a almost twisted boy. Good book that has action in every single chapter.
I thought it would have been a lot better. I didn't care about Delaney and Nick was a very boring character. Nothing really happened except the slow movement of the two characters progressing.
Another favourite from Crusie. The characters were wonderful and the storyline moved along quicky. I kept wanting to read about Min and Cal even after I finished the book.

When I started reading this book I read at least one hundred pages in a morning. I cared about the characters and what happened to each one and why they were important to the story. I loved how Skeeter's and Minny's story ended but I think Aibileen's story needed more closure. I wanted to know more of what she planned on doing and know that she would be ok. After all, the book is about the help. There was so much detail in this book and wonderful, and sometimes not so wonderful, characters to make it seem so real. I loved how the author put some history in the book, including Martin Luther King, and the assassination of Kennedy. It made me realize, even though it is quite obvious that this book is fiction, what it was like for the help to live in the deep south and how quickly the rules began to change in the 60s.
It was slow at first. The fog scenes with Chief Bromden confused me at the beginning. Even though I knew a little bit of what happened to McMurphy the ending was still a shock. It was sad to realize what actually happened to the mentally unstable in the 1960s. Nurse Ratched in an unforgettable and unforgivable character.
I think I didn't enjoy it as much because I read such wonderful reviews of this book when really it's just an average book. I'm glad I read it though.

It reminded me of the book "The Curious Dog in the Nighttime." Not because it has a dog in it but because the narrator is what makes the story so great. I think everyone who has or had a dog should read this. There was always something that Enzo did that reminded me of the memories of my dog which made the book that much better. I read it only in a few days. I felt so bad for Denny so many times but even though he had a lot of down points in his life he had his best freind by his side. It showed the dedication of a dog to his master even at the last moment of his life. A wonderful read but during the car parts I kinda drifted off a few times.
It was nice break from the heavy textbook material I've been having to read. A good book that reminded me of the movie "Never Been Kissed". I figured how it was going to end but it was still fun to read.

I read this in two days. It's a quick read. I never realized how much I cared about the characters' relationship until the end. The main character's sense of humor was what really made this book great.

At first it was somewhat slow but it picked up quickly. One of my favourite books by Emily after "Something Borrowed". Somehow Emily has you care about each character, no matter how wrong it feels. I kept guessing how it was going to end and I always changed how I wanted it to end. I can't wait to read it again!

A quick read from the point of view of an autistic boy. I enjoyed the book from the very beginning. I was surprised though how fast the murder mystery was solved. The events that took place after that weakened the book. I stopped caring about what was going to happen to Christopher. Luckily the ending was satisfying enough to make the book a worth while read.
A sad book with a satisfying ending. It was hard reading through the brutal happenings of Afghanistan and of the main characters. Kind of slow near the beginning but picked up when the two main characters unite. My favourite thing about Hosseini's books is learning about what happened in Afghanistan. Can't wait until his next book comes out.
One thing I had to appriciate while reading this book was how much research the author did. My favourite moments were when Jacob was old, and comparing himself now and back then. Most of the fascinating facts were depressing but learned a lot about the circus during the depression.

This is my second favourite book of Kinsella's. Lara was a fun character to read about and with her teaming up with the ghost of Sadie made some priceless moments. I loved how Lara had to play detective finding out more of her great aunt's past. The only thing that would have made it perfect was more Ed and Lara moments. A very entertaining book with so much happening in each chapter I never wanted to put it down (or finish it).

An enjoyable read about the Japanese internment camps. I liked the relationships in the book, between Henry and Keiko, Henry and his dad, and Henry and his son. A good book about friendship. What kind of ruined it for me was reading reviews on amazon- finding out Brandon Lee was still alive in 1986 and pointing out no one really went online in 1986. A better editing job would have made the book better. Kind of slow in some parts but other than that an enjoyable read.

A light, fun read. I really liked Mel; she was a character I could relate to. Near the end I realized I already read the book last summer. I was surprised at how well Cabot not only wrote the book in e-mails but made every e-mail believable. Lots of humour making it a good piece of chick-lit!
I didn't finish it. Though a fascinating piece of history the book is very long and tiring. Things should have been edited.
At the beginning the characters confused me, with who's who. But once I met Dawsey and the other characters on Guernsey I began to love it. The characters are very entertaining and the stories they tell of their lives during world war II made me want to keep reading. A good read that I'm glad I picked up.
I read the book in a few days. At first it was confusing with the time traveling but after a few chapters it started to make sense to me. My favourite parts were the visits Henry made to Clare when she was younger. I didn't see the point of all the miscarriages and the doctor visits Henry made didn't interest me at all. One of my favourite characters was Kimy. She seemed to always bring some happiness in the book. It was a good book that was hard to put down and I can't wait to see the movie.

I loved this book. Lots of twists and turns. Some parts were boring and that's the only reason I gave it 4 stars.
The cover and title drew me in. I love reading books set at the beach. I really liked the beginning. All the characters, especially Nan, were entertaining and I liked them all. The one thing that made this book bad was how everyone's problems happened near the end making a quick fix for them all. I also hated the scene with Daniel and Matt when they decided to slow down. It was almost laughable.

The only thing I didn't like about it is the science fiction part of it. I liked the idea of how the aliens understood time and death but that was the only thing that interested me. It's a book I want to read again.
