About My Library
Anne Sexton’s personal library is housed in the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin.

Before her suicide at age 45, Anne Sexton provided explicit instructions to her daughter Linda Gray Sexton regarding the disposition of her papers, manuscripts, correspondence and personal library, which were to be placed as a whole in a "worthy University library". The decision as to the specific books which were to be included in the personal library was made by Linda Gray Sexton, who also donated a handful of selected titles published after her mother's death but which she felt would be appropriate.
