During Pastor Wurmbrand's 14 years in solitary confinement he suffered physical & mental torture, extreme hunger & cold in communist Romania. His crime, like thousands of others, was his fervent belief in Jesus Christ and public witness concerning his faith.

Imprisoned by the Romanian Communists for his work in the Christian Underground, and subjected to medieval torture, Wurmbrand kept his faith—and strengthened it. For fourteen years, he shared that faith with suffering cellmates and gave them solace.
