A wonderful, 'feel-good' film about an elderly couple. Henry Fonda is superb as the cantankerous Norman, about to celebrate his 80th birthday. He forms an unlikely friendship with his daughter's potential stepson Billy, bonding over fishing and boats.
Beautifully made, with some humorous one-liners and some great poignancy too. Perfectly paced, with some thought-provoking insights into growing older, and family relationships. Likely to appeal more to middle-aged and older folk, but there's show more nothing unsuitable for children.
