This one deserves some trigger warnings. It is pretty violent and kinda gruesome. The male lead is a real anti-hero type. Some of the sex scenes border on non-consensual. I found the heroine a little too wimpy for my tastes.

Second chance romance between an MMA fighter and his high school sweetheart. There is a long, loooong, long flashback sequence, so I kinda ended up feeling like I was reading really explicit YA.

There were moments I enjoyed and others that frustrated me (not having a conversation explaining how Jonathan came to rescue Beth other than to say he bought her and now owns her made me cray) the book had such potential to be so much more. I hope in the future they flesh it out because in doing so will offer the fluidity and extra spark it needs.

I shouldn't enjoy this story as much as I do but it is that good. This is definitely the best of the series...so far. The characters, the he story, the connections. So good. I fell in love with Lucifer but Simon blows him out of the water. There is just something about his Crazy OCD Spock like logic that made him delicious. Loved Meredith too. Some scenes were not for the squeamish but it added an authenticity to the story.

Cannot wait for the next story.
