Angel: After the Fall Volume 3 features a story plotted by Joss Whedon and Brian Lynch, scripted by Brian Lynch, and peciled by Nick Runge, David Messina, and Stephen Mooney. The story follows a battle between Team Angel and the Lords of Los Angeles, cast into Hell by Wolfram & Hart. Illyria remains unstable as she is suddenly reverting into Fred under emotional stress, despite the fact that Fred should have been burned away. From there, things come to a head between Angel and Gunn, who is now a vampire, and Angel sees a vision of Cordelia. This volume primarily serves to set up the conclusion to After the Fall in volume 4, but has plenty of twists and emotional reunions for fans. For fans of the series seeking closure after the cliffhanger series finale, this is a must read.… (more)
