I zipped through this book! I found it really interesting, the way the author wrote in ?second person? That is, she wrote it from her perspective, but directed it to her husband. "You are walking down the hall," and "you become angry at this..." I would have never thought I could appreciate a novel written this way, but I did1

I'm anxious to read her other novel, "Sister". I'd like to see more by Ms. Lupton!!!

Quick read. Highly topical with mentions of ISIS. Quiet well plotted which led to a rather neat tidy end, but with holes (PC Beard). Some questionable aspects, like all the phones running out of power but no one with power packs or chargers, also other aspects of IT and encryption, the unusual unseasonal severe weather, a windowless library left me dissatisfied.

Book 40 of the 60 book challenge.
The Quality of Silence.
Rosamund Lupton.
Recommended by Kay Pickles an imaginative thriller about fracking in Northern Alaska. The central character being a 10 yr old deaf girl. Plenty twists and turns read it in 2 days and then watched a 5 minute video about fracking as it's not high up on my "know about" list.
173 days to go. Two thirds there... 173÷20 gives me less than 9 days p book problem is the list you have given me are not always that quick.
8/10

Dark, harrowing, sad, and taut suspense. Also, very emotional. At times really hard not to let it get you down because you feel so bad for Bee. But, you also know she is in danger, but can't decide from whom. I love the style of writing.
