Where do I start? I have never read this author before and was anxious to delve into the story. There is a whiplashing amount of back and forth to intend to further the plot. Be careful to follow the amount of characters who pop in without a basis for purpose so the reader is forced to plod along hoping for explanation. The personality and mindset of the characters is tepid at best and leaves the reader wondering why they exist in the story. I am not a fan of the book overall and felt the author was not sure where to go with the story and threw ideas against the wall and hoped the idea would stick. Book 3, Detective David Hudson investigates a case that took place four years earlier and its connection to a recent murder of a CIA assassin. Hudson finds himself in deep trouble as he uncovers the truth behind the plane's disappearance and the people involved. This is a no-nonsense and fast-paced book, diving straight into the story and the dialogue featured doesn’t include the action tags so conversation pings back and forth between the characters. This makes the story stiff, but it does make it easier to follow the investigation and solve the case alongside Hudson.

A man falsely confesses to being the killer of Hudson's daughter. Hudson knows he is lying (how is revealed pretty early on) but can't figure out why. Meanwhile, there seems to be a copycat murderer around.

The plot was interesting, but a cop pushing his friend to break all the rules in the pursuit of revenge was a bit much. Made it kind of obvious that something was going on there though Hudson didn't seem to think it strange at all...

It was an ok read but will not continue with the series.… (more)
